This is an after-hours quarterly event that features local artists and creativities for a one-of-a-kind experience. The event will be held at the Denver Art Museum Campus and is free for members. The Great Gatsby Opening Weekend

The Great Gatsby is presented by Mary Ellen and David Wright at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, with live music featuring the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. Originally scheduled to appear at the Opera House in 2021 during the pandemic, the new ballet will make its long-anticipated premiere at Colorado Ballet. Audiences will be transported back to the Roaring Twenties through cinematic sets, an original score by Carl Davis and dramatic choreography by Jorden Morris. Colorado Mammoth vs. Buffalo Bandits

The Mammoth are taking on the Buffalo Bandits at Ball Arena this Saturday, so grab your tickets now to cheer on the home team. The game is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Come see what all the hype is about and why the Mammoth brag about playing in “the loudest house in lacrosse.” Get your tusks up and catch what’s sure to be an exciting, fast-paced game. The team competes as part of the National Lacrosse League and was the only non-Canadian team in the Western Division from 2014 to 2018. Derek Banach Quintet: A Modern Groove

This Saturday, catch the Derek Banach Quintet at Nocturne. Acclaimed Denver jazz trumpeter Banach is returning to the Nocturne stage and presenting a groove focused set of modern jazz. Composers featured during the set will include Kenny Garrett, Harold Mabern, Mulgrew Miller, Bobby Hutcherson and a handful of original compositions by Derek Banach. Saturday’s showtimes are scheduled for 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM and 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Onstage, audiences will also find Adam Gang on tenor sax, Dave Hanson on piano, Ron Bland on bass and BK Kahn/Todd Reid on drums.

The 30th Annual Denver Jewish Film Festival will wrap up this weekend, so there’s still time to celebrate three decades of powerful Jewish storytelling, community and culture. This year’s festival is excited to showcase a jam-packed lineup of films from around the globe created by a talented group of writers, directors and more. During this final week, audiences are encouraged to gather, watch, discuss and experience stories designed to highlight diverse perspectives and compelling narratives. Catch Kissifum on Saturday at 8:15 PM, which is based on true events between the tragic Yom Kippur War of 1973 and the 1977 visit by the Egyptian President to Israel.

Soul Sunday R&B Brunch

This Friday, the WOW! Children’s Museum is excited to present an Author Story Time with Ashley Key at 10:00 AM. This magical, science-filled Arctic adventure will include STEM author Ashley Key reading from her poetic picture book Dash and the Lights in the Sky, followed by a hands-on Northern Lights in a Jar craft. Kids will have the opportunity to design their own glowing Aurora jars to take home with them. The afternoon will also include a live science show with an aurora projector demonstration! General admission is priced at $15, with a $13 discounted rate available for babies ages 1 to 4 months and free for infants. Books will be available for purchase and signing after the reading.

PAW Patrol Live! A Mighty Adventure

PAW Patrol Live is coming to Denver’s Bellco Theatre this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday features two showtimes (10:00 AM & 2:00 PM), followed by a final two shows on Sunday at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Kiddos will love seeing their favorite PAW Patrol characters onstage, complete with catchy songs and dances, interactive elements and captivating storylines. A Mighty Adventure will take audiences along for the action as PAW Patrol works together to make sure Adventure City’s biggest bash goes off without a hitch. Free Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Have you been waiting for the perfect time to visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science? This Sunday is an SCFD Free Day, meaning you can visit the museum for, well, free! Satisfy your own science curiosity and that of your children on Sunday when no tickets are needed for general museum admission. Just walk up anytime during the day to gain access to the Wildlife Halls or to the permanent exhibits.
PRO Tip: On SCFD Free Days, a separate ticket is still required to visit the planetarium or the temporary museum exhibits. Additional upcoming free days are scheduled for February 9th, March 6th and April 13th — so mark your calendar now!
