Jeffco Mineral Show

The Jeffco Mineral Show runs from Friday through Sunday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in nearby Golden. Hours are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the exception of a 4:00 PM closure on the final day. The Mineral Show is a tradition in the Denver area mineral scene, featuring collector quality minerals and fascinating fossils. The show will feature over 30 mineral dealers who have traveled across the state to set up their booths. This year’s dealers include names such as Amethyst Rose, Colorado Minerals, D&J Rare Gems, Jensen Meteorites, Rockfalls Designs, Treasure Island Jewelry and many more.
PRO Tip: Attendees can expect to find minerals, fossils, geode cracking, gemstones and more! Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the scene, the Jeffco Mineral Show is open to anybody.
Swallow Hill BanjoFest

This Saturday, celebrate the 2nd annual Swallow Hill BanjoFest. The festival is presented by the Denver Folklore Center and KGNU Community Radio. Enjoy this all day affair from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM featuring mainstage performers Pete Wernick, Kyle Tuttle, Chris Coole, and The Lowest Pair. The festival will also offer banjo workshops, concerts and lots of community! Whether you’re a picker, a listener or you dabble in a little bit of both, BanjoFest is designed to bring friends, family and neighbors together to enjoy the craft.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The Ghosts of Christmas Eve

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra are coming to Ball Arena this Saturday for their Ghosts of Christmas Eve tour. The orchestra will be performing twice on Saturday, with shows scheduled for 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a progressive rock band dating back to 1996. The band is known for their elaborate Christmas-themed rock operas, which combine classical music, hard rock, and symphonic elements that will delight a wide range of audience members. Concerts are presented with an impressive light show and pyrotechnics, as well!

Powderpalooza

Carboy Winery Denver is hosting Powderpalooza with special guest speaker, Joel Gratz, the founder of OpenSnow. From 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM this Saturday, enjoy an 80s Après Ski Party and break out your brightest neon and retro ski suits to send winter in style. This unique event will bring together skiers, snowboarders and mountain lovers of all kinds for a kickoff to the powder season. Expect high-energy entertainment and plenty of surprises throughout the evening. Powderpalooza will also feature live music, fire pit lounges, a boozy cocoa bar, raffles, prizes, giveaways and a local vendor village! Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Denver Broncos are facing down the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 2:25 PM MST. Catch the game live at Empower Field at Mile High or head to one of the many local sports bars and hangouts in the Mile High City to cheer on the team with the locals. Game day parking can be purchased in advance, with limited spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lots will open 4.5 hours prior to kickoff.

Colorado Avalanche vs. New York Islanders

The Colorado Avalanche are taking the ice against the New York Islanders this weekend at Denver’s Ball Arena. Tickets are available starting as low as the $40s, so grab yours new and cheer on the home team. Sunday will be Hockey Fights Cancer Night, presented by UCHealth. Wings’ Fall Food Drive

Wings Over the Rockies is hosting a Fall Food Drive during the month of November in collaboration with the Food Bank of the Rockies to fight hunger. Visitors who make a donation of a canned or non-perishable food item will receive $1 off admission. Other ways to donate include making a donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies through November 30th. 1 in 9 people in Colorado experience food insecurity and the Food Bank distributes upwards of 179,000 meals daily. Spread the word, get some friends and family together and help the Food Bank of the Rockies continue to soar in their mission. Accepted food items must be shelf-stable and non-perishable, including goods such as peanut butter, pasta, tuna, soup, canned fruits and vegetables, and more.

The performance is complete with whimsical music and dance to create a truly captivating adaptation of one of the world’s most popular children’s books. Goodnight Moon will run through January 25th, so if you miss this weekend’s performance – no worries!
