No plans this weekend? You’re about to change that! With so many options, it can feel impossible to decide where to start. Kick off your weekend at the Civic Center Night Market on Friday or grab tickets to a Rockies game and enjoy the post-game fireworks.

Civic Center Night Market

Where? 101 West 14th Avenue

You won’t want to miss the Civic Center Night Market this Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to kick off your weekend itinerary. Fun for all ages, this night market boasts an evening of culture, food, entertainment and more. Taking inspiration from the night markets of Southeast Asia, the Civic Center market will be the place to be this Friday to eat, shop, kick back and relax with familiar and new faces alike. Swing by the Greek Theater to catch live performances or get creative with the one-of-a-kind art activations. There will also be a Family Fun Zone and an Adult Chill Zone, with lawn games and a special art experience with the Chicano Humanities Arts Council Gallery.

PRO Tip: Friday’s theme will be Fiesta en el Mercado to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. This foodie-forward event is set to showcase an impressive variety of authentic Hispanic cuisine and street food, as well as curated themed cocktails. 

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Angels

Where? 2001 Blake Street
When? September 19th-21st

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Colorado Rockies will be playing their final homestand of the year against the Los Angeles Angels at Coors Field. Friday’s matchup will feature fireworks after the game, as well as a 2026 magnet schedule giveaway presented by One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. The game begins at 6:10 PM. Saturday continues the three-day home stand at 6:10 PM with a Los Rockies Ticket Package featuring a limited-edition Los Rockies-themed long sleeve shirt. Cap off your MLB weekend on Sunday at 1:10 PM and enjoy Fan Appreciation Day, where 100 randomly selected fans will be taking home a Fan Appreciation bag featuring a signed jersey, ball, or bat, along with other goodies.

PRO Tip: At the conclusion of Sunday’s game, players and coaches will be taking their traditional lap around the warming track to thank fans.

Denver Oktoberfest: Weekend One

Where? 21st & Larimer

Get ready for the first weekend of Denver Oktoberfest, held on Larimer and 21st in Denver’s Ballpark District. This festival has been a beloved two weekend event in Downtown Denver since 1969! Featuring keg bowling, stein hoisting, live music and everything else you’ve come to expect from such an iconic celebration, there’s something for Oktoberfest pros and first time visitors alike. Don your best lederhosen and join in on the fun this weekend. From polka to a late night silent disco, there will be singalongs and even chicken-dance alongs, so grab a beer and get to stepping. There will even be an ultra-exciting Long Dog Derby, so bring your wiener dog and let them loose at the most competitive dachshund event around on Sunday at 12:30 PM sharp.

PRO Tip: Want to experience the VIP party tent? Enjoy unlimited beer and wine, two ice cold Jäger shots, and all of the bites you can eat with access to a private bar and restrooms when you upgrade.

Adult Spelling Bee

Where? 400 East 7th Avenue 
When? September 20th

Want to test your spelling knowledge this weekend? Grab a friend or two and head to SchadenBee at the Après Governor’s Park in Denver this Saturday from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There’s sure to be hilarious misspellings and embarrassing moments, so jump into the action or watch from the crowd. There will be prizes up for grabs for winning contestants. If you think you have what it takes to win it all, registrations will be taken on the day of the event. Spots can fill quickly, so arrive early and start warming up with some spelling drills! It’s 100% free to play or to watch SchadenBee.

PRO Tip: This is an 18 and up event and there will be free venue parking. Doors open at 7:30 PM.

Party in the Paseo

Get ready for Party in the Paseo with Cooldown Running this Friday at BASECAMP Market. Cooldown Running is a national social run club with chapters across 15 cities! Kick off your Friday with a scenic 5K that loops through Larimer Square and Cherry Creek Trail, before heading back to the Paseo for the real fun. Post-run festivities will include live DJ sets from Something Vinyl Club, as well as local food trucks, drinks by Sipp Hospitality and interactive activations from BASECAMP outdoor retailers. There will also be local vendors, brand pop-ups and more to peruse.

PRO Tip: Register at the link found here to secure your spot at the party. Organizers expect 200+ runners, so this will be a great opportunity to meet new likeminded friends from Denver! 

Singles Event with The GroupChat

Where? 3560 Chestnut Place 
When? September 20th

Are you single and ready to mingle? The Singles Event this Saturday hosted by Number Thirty Eight x The Groupchat might just be where you meet the love of your life! This is a 21 and up event starting at 6:00 PM. DJ Liam Dever will be spinning tunes on the outdoor stage and LaLa Links will be onsite doing permanent jewelry. Additional activities include ice breakers, games, drinks and an abundance of opportunities designed to connect singles. After all, the dating scene is notoriously tough so take some of the stress off and bring some friends along to meet new people! Color-coded stickers and name tags will help communicate what you’re looking for, such as more friends or a relationship. 

PRO Tip: This singles event is free to attend but organizers request that you please RSVP at this link. Guests who RSVP can claim a goodie bag complete with a tote and a multitude of deals at local businesses.

2nd Annual Korean Festival

Where? 271 South Havana Street 
When? September 20th

The 2nd Annual Korean Festival will feature all things Korean, from delicious food, traditional performances and exciting activities for attendees to participate in. The festival will be held from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Leezakaya in nearby Aurora. The day is hosted by Seoul Hospitality Group and you can expect free snacks such as choco pies, cup ramen, and seaweed bites to get your tastebuds in the groove. Bring your friends and family along for what’s sure to be an awesome afternoon. Don’t miss the spectacular giant bibimbap-making event, which is a communal dish meant to symbolize harmony.

PRO Tip: This is an all ages event and there will be free venue parking. There is no admission fee.

Paws With Pride

Where? 1701 Wynkoop Street 
When? September 20th

Celebrate all things love, paws and pride at the 2nd annual Paws with Pride event. This fabulous and dog-friendly Pride celebration is hosted by Sploot Veterinary Care and Denver Union Station. This Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, head to the Terminal Bar Patio for all things pups and pride. Register for the Doggie Drag Show here, which is free to enter but a suggested donation of $5 will go towards benefiting the furry friends at Canine Partners of the Rockies. Dog show categories include Hollywood Hounds, Tails and Tiaras, Doggie Decades, and more. Additional fun activities at the event will include free pet portraits by Denver Pet Pics, local vendors, patio specials and prizes, raffles and giveaways throughout the afternoon. 

PRO Tip: This is a free, inclusive event that’s designed to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the LGBTQ+ community and the furry friends that walk beside them.

Cherry Creektoberfest

Where? 1st & Fillmore 
When? September 20th & 21st

The very first Cherry Creektoberfest is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday in the Fillmore Plaza located between 1st and 2nd Avenues. This vibrant two-day event will offer an unforgettable Oktoberfest experience, led by the experienced team behind Denver’s beloved Christkindlemarket. Enjoy authentic German flavors in Cherry Creek, along with refreshing beers and awesome vendors set up in traditional wooden chalets. This might just be your new favorite fall tradition, so come on out and see what this fest has to offer! The lineup features live DJs, pretzel and sausage eating contests, stein hoisting, and even a Meister Says contest!

Colorado Avalanche vs Utah Mammoth

Where? 1000 Chopper Circle 
When? September 21st

The Colorado Avalanche are facing off against the Utah Mammoth this Sunday at Ball Arena. This preseason game is part of a six game exhibition series, with three at home and three on the road. The Avalanche will be matched up against three opponents: Dallas, Utah and Vegas as they play split-squad matchups with the Mammoth this Sunday. This is a prime opportunity to catch the teams in action before the regular season starts up on October 7th at an away game in Los Angeles and at a home opener game on the 9th against the Utah Mammoth. 

PRO Tip: Tickets to Sunday’s game can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Seats can be found for as little as $20, so grab yours ASAP and enjoy the game! 

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend 

Nothing says family-friendly fun like a trip to the local library or to Denver’s Downtown Aquarium. If you or a loved one has a sensory processing disorder, the aquarium is opening early on Saturday for a low sensory experience.  

Special Musical Storytime with Rocky Mountain Aardvarks 

Where? 4705 Montview Boulevard 
When? September 19th

This Friday, head on over to the Park Hill branch library from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM for a Special Musical Storytime with the kids. This refreshing alternative to traditional music classes is specially designed for babies and toddlers. Music for Aardvarks is distinctive from other children’s musical programs in that all classes are organized around original songs, rhymes and chants. Expect influences of rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop. The informal, spirited classes are best suited towards kiddos ages three months to five years and attendees are encouraged to sign, dance and jam out. 

PRO Tip: There is no program fee or reservation requirements to attend this Friday’s program. The musical session will be held in the Park Hill Community Room at the library. 

Low Sensory Morning @ the Downtown Aquarium

Every month, Denver’s Downtown Aquarium hosts a Low Sensory Morning for individuals with autism or sensory processing disorders. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the exhibits in a less overwhelming setting, with ambient sounds turned down to create a calmer, quieter atmosphere. Families are welcome and the aquarium will open early to accommodate this special monthly morning. At 10:00 AM, the aquarium will open for regular business and ambient sounds and the flash flood exhibit will be turned on. Tickets are priced at $28.99 for adults ages 12 to 64 and $22.99 for children ages 3 to 11. Seniors receive a discounted rate of $27.99 and children ages 2 and under get in free.

Read to a Therapy Dog

Where? 4310 East Amherst Avenue 
When? September 21st

The Ross-University Hills branch library is excited to host Read to a Therapy Dog on Sunday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Swing by with the littles for this paw-some opportunity to develop reading skills while bonding with a therapy pup. This is the perfect chance for young readers to hone their skills in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The class is geared towards kids ages 5 to 12 years old. Drop in anytime during the hour-long program to visit a new four-legged friend.

PRO Tip: A waiver is required to participate in the Read to a Therapy Dog program.
