Whether you’re an Avalanche fan or you want to catch Romeo and Juliet as they take the stage at the Arvada Center, there is no shortage of things to do this weekend. Grab your tickets, make your reservations and invite a friend or two or that special someone for a memorable weekend itinerary! 

Denver Nuggets Home Games

Where? 1000 Chopper Circle 
When? March 27th & 29th

This weekend, the Nuggets are kicking things off on Friday at 7:00 PM against the Toronto Raptors. Next, the team faces off against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday at 3:00 PM. The team plays their home games at Ball Arena, which is shared by other Denver professional sports teams such as the Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Mammoth. Keep an eye on Nikola Jokić as he’s coming off a hot streak, netting his 192nd career triple-double against the Trail Blazers on March 22nd, which was also his 35th triple-double of the current season.

PRO Tip: Tickets are available for both weekend games via Ticketmaster, so grab yours ASAP and get excited to cheer on some pro basketball this weekend. 

Denver Home Show

Where? 4850 National Western Drive 
When? March 27th-29th

Whether you’re in search of smart tips to try on your next home improvement project or you’re looking to stay up to date on what’s trending, the Denver Home Show is the place for you. The 37th annual Denver Home Show is just around the corner now at the National Western Center. Explore feature gardens and chat with 250+ experts in remodeling, flooring, landscaping, kitchen design and so much more. There will also be an opportunity to shop local in the Made in Colorado Marketplace, so be sure to check it out. Celebrity guests this year include Ben Higgins from the Bachelor on Friday and Saturday! 

PRO Tip: Tickets are priced at $11 in advance when you purchase online or $13 at the box office. Kids ages 12 and under are free.

Inaugural Summit FC Match

Where? 1701 Bryant Street, Suite 700
When? March 28th

Get ready to cheer on the inaugural season of Denver Summit FC, which is a professional women’s soccer team. The club will play in the National Women’s Soccer League and host their home games at Centennial Stadium. This temporary stadium will be used during the first two seasons. The team’s current lineup features names such as Abby Smith, Megan Reid, Kaleigh Kurtz, Natalie Means, Devin Lynch and many more. 

PRO Tip: Saturday will be the team’s first home game after beginning their season on the road earlier this month, so cheer extra loud as the ladies take on the Washington Spirit at Empower Field. 

Junction Food & Drink Artisan Craft & Art Walk

Where? 2000 South Colorado Boulevard 
When? March 28th

Junction Food & Drink is excited to host the Fourth Saturday Artisan Craft & Art Walk this weekend from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Come on out and explore local artisans, handmade goods, art, gifts and specialty vendors throughout the evening in one of Denver’s favorite food hall destinations. Guests can shop from unique handcrafted items, while also grabbing dinner from one of Junction’s food vendors or enjoying drinks while you browse a rotating lineup of talented local makers. Admission is free to the public, so bring a friend, raise a toast and support local businesses!

Old School Cool Vintage Market

Swing by Stanley Marketplace this weekend for the Old School Cool Vintage Market. The affair will be set up within the halls, main space and out front of the iconic marketplace in Aurora and will feature convenient parking. Saturday’s event will feature all women vendors with goods for everyone from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Old School Cool Vintage Markets highlight passionate local entrepreneurs who are excited about curating exceptional vintage collections that represent all decades and styles. The Spring Makers Market at Fiction Beer Company is the perfect place to search for a Mother’s Day gift or simply to support local artists and small businesses as the seasons shift. The market is scheduled from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will feature 8 local artists and small businesses set up around the taproom with a diverse range of goods for sale. The vendor lineup for Saturday includes Found & Fashioned, The Fae Cart, Boutique Book Nooks, LMK Cards and more. 

PRO Tip: Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or even just a little treat yourself moment after you’ve wrapped up spring cleaning, come on out and show some support for these local favorites.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Winnipeg Jets

The Colorado Avalanche are facing off against the Winnipeg Jets this Saturday at Ball Arena. Tickets are on sale now, starting in the low $100s. Grab yours ASAP and swing by concessions before you find your seats. Enjoy a range of options from cheeseburgers, ice cream, funnel cakes and a wide selection of craft beers, domestic brews and hard seltzers. Avalanche captain Gabe Landeskog has recently returned from an injury but scored a goal in his return game, so keep an eye on #92!

Pauline Robinson Book Club

The Pauline Robinson Book Club is scheduled for this Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The club is held every 4th Saturday of the month and all are welcome. In March, the group will be discussing Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan, so give the book a read and bring a copy with you to discuss the plot, characters and themes surrounding the book. The group will be meeting in the Warren D. Alexander Community Room.

PRO Tip: There is no fee to join the book club and reservations are not necessary. Swing by and meet friendly faces who are just as excited about reading as you are! 

Romeo and Juliet

Where? 6901 Wadsworth Boulevard

Catch Romeo and Juliet at the Arvada Center before it’s gone at the end of the month! The Arvada Center’s production of Romeo & Juliet lives in a world that is both classic and modern, highlighting the timeless themes of love and hate, in a world where generational conflict leaves the younger generation fighting battles that started well before they were born. This production is fast-paced and with no intermission. The performance will be held in the Black Box Theatre on Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 PM and on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM.

PRO Tip: The runtime of the show is 1 hour and 30 minutes. No late seating is permitted, so ensure you arrive early or on time. Tickets are starting at $52.

Heavy Hitters @ Comedy Works

Where? 1226 15th Street
When? March 29th

Check out Heavy Hitters at Comedy Works Downtown this Sunday. The show is scheduled for 7:00 PM and tickets are priced at $14. This is a 21+ show that will have bases loaded with the best of the best. Expect a lineup of all-stars who are coming out swinging at the fences with killer sets and non-stop punchlines. Names include Nic Dean, Sam Adams, Georgia Comstock, Janae Burris and more. Add up to 8 tickets to your cart and invite a whole group of friends or keep it casual for date night!

PRO Tip: There is a two-item minimum in effect. Attendees need to be on time for the show. After 30 minutes, tickets will be subject to cancellation without refund.

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

Surprise the kids with tickets to Disney on Ice this weekend or wear your pajamas to the library for Saturday’s PJ Special at the Decker Branch! Of course, a trip to the zoo is never a bad idea and you can snag Glowing Wild tickets for an evening family excursion.

Disney On Ice: Road Trip Adventures

Disney on Ice is coming to the Denver Coliseum this weekend for the Road Trip Adventures tour! Kicking things off on Friday at 7:00 PM, the show will be followed by three Saturday showtimes at 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM and capped off with two matinees on Sunday at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Families have plenty of opportunity to see their favorite Disney characters take the ice. If you’ve never been to a show, Disney on Ice presentations are highly interactive and family-friendly. Watch as Mickey and his friends lead an adventure to various Disney destinations, featuring beloved characters from Toy Story, Moana, Frozen and more. Expect acrobatics, high-energy skating and in-show audience participation and singalongs!

Family Storytime: Saturday PJ Special

Decker Branch Library is excited for this weekend’s upcoming Saturday PJ Special. From 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, stay cozy in your comfiest attire for stories, songs, rhymes and fun for kiddos ages 0 to 5 years old and their designated grown ups. Come dressed in your pajamas and get ready for a pajama party that you won’t soon forget! This can be an exciting way to keep the little ones engaged and excited to learn and explore reading, as well as make new friends within their peer group!

Glowing Wild

The Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance invites you to explore the lush forests and radiant reefs at this limited-time, after-dark experience. Visitors will enjoy a glowing journey that’s been inspired by wildlife and conservation. From 60 illuminated scenes and 175 new larger-than-life lanterns that bring animals and their fascinating stories to life before your eyes, this is an event you won’t want to skip. The lanterns are all handcrafted by Chinese artisans! Tickets are on sale now to Glowing Wild, with event times scheduled on select nights through May 10th from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
