Colorado Rails & Cocktails

Where? 17155 West 44th Avenue
When? June 5th

Colorado Rails & Cocktails will be hosted this Friday at the Colorado Railroad Museum from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Enjoy an evening of Colorado history while you relax, make new friends and enjoy a beverage while you travel back in time to when railroads shaped the American West. Colorado Rails & Cocktails is held on select Fridays, with a range of topics. This Friday’s event will be led by author Angelina M. Lopez as she presents a fascinating look into the history of Traqueros, the Mexican and Mexican American railroad workers who helped build, maintain and operate rail lines throughout the American West. Admission is priced at $20 and this event is for ages 21+ only. Tickets include 2 beverages of your choice, with options ranging from beer, wine, and soda, as well as snacks. Doors will open at 6:00 PM to give guests an opportunity to enjoy museum displays and the presentation will follow shortly thereafter at 7:00 PM. Presentations will vary in length, with doors closing at 9:00 PM.

PRO Tip: Upcoming Colorado Rails & Cocktails dates are scheduled for August 7th and October 2nd. Mark your calendar now! 

Wellshire 100 Year Anniversary Celebration & Golf Tournament

Where? 3333 South Colorado Boulevard
When? June 5th

Denver Golf is excited to celebrate a century of Wellshire Golf Course! The course has been a landmark since 1926, bringing together golfers, neighbors, and community leaders for generations. Join the Community Celebration and golf tournament this Friday. The events are open to the public, so check out the views at the historic course and enjoy an open house celebration with live music, giveaways, food, a cash bar and more. Community Celebration tickets are priced at $10 and the event will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 

PRO Tip: Earlier in the day, there will be a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. Space is limited for the tournament.

First Fridays Creator Market @ Stanley Marketplace

Where? 2501 Dallas Street
When? June 5th

Join in with the community for an unforgettable evening at Stanley Marketplace at the First Friday series. This is a vibrant Creator Market that features approximately 40+ talented local artists who are eager to showcase their handcrafted goods. Take a stroll through the curated booths filled with unique pieces of art, handmade jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, textiles and so much more. You’ll have the chance to meet the creators behind each piece and listen to their individual stories. You may even find a one-of-a-kind treasure that you can’t live without. The evening will go beyond shopping with exciting activations from Stanley Marketplace partners, as well as craft beverages, delicious vendors and more.

PRO Tip: There is no fee or registration required to attend a First Fridays Creator Market! The evening is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Taste of Louisville

Where? 901 Main Street
When? June 5th & 6th

Taste of Louisville is presented by T-Fiber and will kick off this Friday with First Friday Fun, a Free Silent Disco on Main Street and Dinner on Main (sold out). The fun continues on Saturday with a 5K and Dog Jog, SummerFest, a Pride Festival, a car show, and an array of interactive community art projects. Additional events and activities throughout the day include live music, roaming performers, a farmers market, a spaghetti eating contest and 150+ vendors to explore. You won’t want to miss this celebration of community, food and fun!

PRO Tip: Grab your tickets for the Fun Run and Dog Jog here. The start and finish line will be at the Louisville Chamber of Commerce with a start time of 9:30 AM.

Colorado Rockies vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Where? 2001 Blake Street
When? June 5th-7th

Catch the Rockies as they take the field against the Milwaukee Brewers this Friday through Sunday. On Friday, kick things off at 6:40 PM and make sure to snag a City Connect hat if you’re one of the first 15,000 fans at the field! On Saturday, grab a ticket to the 7:10 PM game or bring the family out on Sunday for an earlier start time of 1:10 PM. Sunday’s game also features a Dinger bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans, presented by King Soopers. It will also be an Autograph Sunday, which means select players will be available for autographs on the 1st base side beginning at approximately 12:00 PM.

PRO Tip: Sunday’s game will be partnered with the Mile High City’s newest team, Denver Summit FC. This special crossover day at Coors Field features a chance to purchase a special ticket package that includes an exclusive Rockies x Denver Summit FC t-shirt.

60th Annual Denver Greek Festival

Where? 4610 East Alameda Avenue 
When? June 5th-7th

This Friday through Sunday, the 60th annual Denver Greek Festival is returning to the Mile High City. This is a family-friendly event with a little something for everyone. From authentic Greek bites, immersive live Greek music and traditional dance entertainment, you won’t be left wanting for a good time. The boutique features Hellenic art, paintings, sculptures, and amazing jewelry straight from Greece. There will also be unique church tours, choir performances and history for those who would love to know more. If you’re ready for a vibrant celebration of Greek culture or whether you’re just coming for the food, everyone is welcome! Explore the full menu here.

PRO Tip: Tickets are priced at $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for children ages 12 and under. While you can purchase tickets at the door, organizers encourage purchasing online to skip the lines!

Summer Sessions

With the summer festival season just around the corner now, locals are eager to kick off the fun with a free fest in downtown Denver. This Saturday, head over to Riverfront Park from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM for Summer Sessions. The music will be loud, the drinks will be ice cold and the vibes will be at an all time high. This year’s lineup includes Surf Hat, Corsicana, On the Dot and more. Who doesn’t love free live music? Check out local Denver bites for a picture-perfect park picnic and sip on tasty cocktails or a refreshing lager. Explore the vendors here.

PRO Tip: Bring the kids out, too! The whole family can join in on the fun at the Kids Zone hosted by the Montessori Academy.

Mutt Strut

Grab Fido a tiny wig and let your mutt strut their stuff at what everybody’s calling the cutest doggy drag show in town. Enter your pup to walk in one of the three themed shows and whether or not they’re taking to the runway, dogs run free at Skiptown. For people who are unfamiliar, this is an indoor/outdoor off-leash park where humans can socialize and enjoy a full bar. The schedule for Saturday kicks off at 11:00 AM with the WIGS runway, followed by the 2:00 PM Dynamic Duo runway and wrapped up at the 4:30 PM Queer Icons runway. General admission to the Mutt Strut is priced at $21.58, which includes a processing fee.

PRO Tip: Before you register, please note that all participating dogs must meet vaccination requirements and participants must remain on leash during the show.

13th Annual Park Hill Art Festival

Where? 4819 Montview Boulevard 
When? June 6th & 7th

Join the festivities at the annual Park Hill Art Festival. This is a two-day juried fine art and fine craft show hosted in one of Denver’s most beautiful neighborhoods at the Park Hill Masonic Lodge. Attendees can shop 100+ professional artists from Colorado and beyond. There will be opportunities to meet the makers themselves, discover original work and enjoy the immaculate vibes of the historic Park Hill. Hours for the festival are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. At the festival, you’ll find all forms of original fine art and fine crafts. Whether you’re drawn to paintings, sculptures, metal, glass, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry, wood, fiber, photography or something else entirely, you’re likely to find it here! On Saturday only, check out a new activity: ColoradoArtWeekend.com’s Great Festival Hunt which invites visitors to hunt around artist booths for a small sculpture. If you find one, you win a tote bag made from recycled festival banners from previous seasons!

PRO Tip: There will be a $1,000 art festival shopping spree drawing at 12:00 PM on Sunday! 

Smash Fine Arts Festival

Where? 105 Fillmore Street
When? June 6th & 7th

The 2026 Smash Fine Arts Festivals will be hosted in the premier Fillmore Plaza in the Cherry Creek North District. This will be the 8th straight year in Cherry Creek North, which is a notable hot spot nationwide for top shelf art and affluent clientele. Smash in the Square is known as being a highly selective and classy boutique outdoor fine-art exhibition that showcases top-tier national artists. Attendees also enjoy the added ambiance of live violin, piano and acoustic music across both days. Explore the open-air gallery walk as you meet national fine artists, shop sculpture, jewelry, mixed media and more, and simply enjoy the great weekend vibes that usher in the summertime season. The festival is free to attend, walkable and conveniently located in the heart of Cherry Creek North. Grab brunch, sip on an iced latte and take a slow walk as you explore the booths.

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

The kids will love visiting the raptors at the Denver Botanic Gardens this Friday or you can take the family to the Denver Chalk Art Festival this Saturday and Sunday! However you decide to spend the weekend, make lasting memories with awesome events and family-friendly fun.

Raptor Day

Where? 1007 York Street
When? June 5th

The Denver Botanic Gardens and the Raptor Education Foundation are excited to present Raptor Day at the Gardens this Friday! This is an exclusive opportunity to meet the extensive cast of live raptors and learn details about their journey while chatting with handlers. This program is great for all ages, as well as families and homeschool groups. Included with admission to the Botanic Gardens will be open viewing in Mitchell Hall from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, as well as two presentations about the foundation’s non-releasable raptors from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. There will also be film showings of “Denver’s Downtown Peregrines” every 20 minutes in the Sturm Family Auditorium. 

PRO Tip: Check out owl story time at 10:45 AM in the Helen Fowler Library, where owl crafts will be available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Access to the library is free and open to the public.

Denver Chalk Art Festival

Where? 12th & Bannock
When? June 6th & 7th

The Denver Chalk Art Festival, aka the city’s most colorful event, is not only free to attend but it’s taking over Denver for two days this weekend! Watch as the streets are transformed into a bright and colorful street museum with vivid pastel chalk! There will be 200+ participating artists, many of whom you might have seen at the festival in the past. Say hello to familiar favorites and welcome new faces! The festival’s new home is in the Golden Triangle Creative District. Just look for the Denver Art Museum if you need a landmark.

PRO Tip: Want to advertise your business? A $500 donation gets your business name chalked above one of the pieces of art and photographed by thousands of attendees! 

130th Summer Celebration

Where? 2300 Steele Street
When? Through September 7th

Celebrate 130 years at the Denver Zoo at this summer celebration through the first week of September! Everyone is invited to experience the surprises, fun activities, and all-new experiences to honor this milestone occasion. From animal birthday parties to extended Zoo member exclusives and special events, there’s always something exciting just around the corner. One visit won’t be enough! There will also be musical entertainment and live performances taking the stage daily at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the hour in the Wildlife Plaza. Don’t forget to start and end the day by visiting an Animal Ambassador near the entrance from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

PRO Tip: Catch the Celebration Squad as they roam the zoo daily with games, dance parties and hourly chances to win memberships, attraction passes, snacks and more!
