Get ready to celebrate all things orchids at the Denver Botanic Gardens Orchid Day this Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is a family-friendly event that will feature hands-on activities throughout the gardens. Included with garden admission are drop-in art activities, bilingual science chats in the Science Pyramid, repotting demonstrations, drop-in tours, live music, and more. You can even meet the scientists behind the natural history collections — including Colorado-native orchids! Tickets to the York Street Gardens are priced at $15.75 for nonmember adults. Seniors, students, and children all receive a discounted rate!

First Friday Art Walk in 40 West Arts

The 40 West Arts creative district is home to over 40 arts and cultural organizations, offering both residents and visitors a unique blend of artistry and culture in Lakewood. The art walk will take place on West Colfax Avenue, where art galleries, dealers, work studios, and a range of food and entertainment options have taken root. On First Fridays, attendees can see shows in all of the Art Hubs from 10+ gallery locations throughout the district. These vibrant evenings are a great way to connect with the local community and view a diverse range of styles and mediums — such as eye-catching murals, sculptures, paintings, and more.

PRO Tip: First Friday Art Walks are completely free and there is plenty of parking! Whether you’re an avid art aficionado or a casual fan, come on out and see what’s in store for you!

First Friday in RiNo

First Fridays in RiNo can be a choose-your-own-adventure type of experience. Plan your route around the district and craft an itinerary that speaks to you! This Friday’s lineup of events include “Pitch-a-Friend” at the Vīb Hotel from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, where you can showcase your amazing single friend in a 3 to 5 minute slide presentation and the First Friday Reception from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for Cast Iron Art as a Medium at fooLPRoof Contemporary Art Gallery. Explore the various murals scattered throughout River North and swing by one of the eateries or breweries for rations on your adventure. RiNo is hailed as an incubator of sorts for Denver’s booming craft beverage industry, with Infinite Monkey Theorem Winery, the Great Divide brewery, and Black Shirt Brewing all doubling as art galleries.

PRO Tip: While parking can be secured on a first-come, first-served basis — due to the heavy traffic on First Fridays, ride shares and public transportation are encouraged.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac

Where? 1820 Broadway
When? February 8th

This Saturday, experience the magic of a Candlelight concert at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Each performance provides an unforgettable experience for audience members, complete with exquisitely performed music and the warm ambiance provided by the candlelight. Doors will open 60 minutes prior to the start time and seating is assigned on a first come, first served basis for each zone. The tentative program for the evening will feature songs such as Songbird, You Make Loving Fun, Never Going Back Again, Gypsy, Landslide, Go Your Own Way, and many more. The music will be performed by the Piano and Violin Duo — Range Ensemble. The age requirement is 8 years and older. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

PRO Tip: Secure your tickets ASAP! Concerts often sell out due to their popularity. Saturday will have two performances, with the first at 6:30 PM and the second at 8:45 PM.

Colorado Home & Garden Show

The Colorado Home & Garden Show is coming to the Colorado Convention Center starting this Saturday! 400,000 square feet will be transformed into a marketplace for all of your garden and home improvement dreams. Discover the Rocky Mountain region’s largest home and garden show in this gigantic 9-day spectacular event! With over 500 companies from 25 states and Canada and thousands of products, you’ll be able to knock out your home projects left and right. The show will introduce new technologies, trends in landscaping, efficient heating and cooling products, sprinklers and irrigation and so much more! There will even be a Children’s Entrepreneur Market this Saturday and Sunday for youth ages 5 to 17 to try their hand at running a small business!

Valentine’s Day 4 Mile

If running is your love language, then you won’t want to miss the Valentine’s Day 4-mile race this Sunday! The race is part of the RunDenver Series, produced by HAL Sports. The series is a great opportunity to stay active during the winter months. With only one more race left on the docket in March, make sure you take advantage! The race will feature a Cupid’s Free Kids 200 Meter Fun Run, as well as Valentine’s Day 4 Mile mittens and free photos. You may even spot a special appearance by Cupid! Custom finisher medals will be awarded at the finish line. Advance package pick-up will be hosted at Road Runner Sports from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday and on race day starting at 8:00 AM. The 4 Mile run/walk starts at 9:00 AM!

Super Duper Watch Party

McGregor Square’s Super Duper Watch Part begins at 3:00 PM this Saturday, with the game kick-off scheduled for 4:30 PM. Catch all of the excitement from New Orleans in the comfort of Denver as the KC Chiefs take on the Philly Eagles — all streamed live on the Square’s massive 66-foot LED screen. This is a 21 and up event and IDs will be checked at the entrance. Tickets include access to the private heated terrace, as well as the indoor viewing space. Pizza will be provided by Anthony’s Pizza and attendees can enjoy a welcome beer of their choice — Coors Light or Coors Banquet. Additional food and beverages can be purchased from Milepost Zero.

PRO Tip: If you want to elevate your game day experience, head to Milepost Zero on the second-floor terrace that overlooks the plaza.

Souper Bowl Watch Party

Want to mix up your Super Bowl game day festivities? Check out the Souper Bowl Watch Party at Bierstadt Lagerhaus. Whether you’re a diehard Chiefs or Eagles fan or you just really love soup — this is the party for you! Cheer on your favorite team, indulge in delicious soups, and catch the big game on the video wall. Free liters of Helles are included with a soup entry. Those looking to enter their best recipe into the cook-off will compete for $100, which will be announced after the third quarter. Utensils and bowls will be provided but entrants will need to provide the soup and the crockpot or serving receptacle.

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

This weekend has a great selection of family-friendly events and activities, including the annual Denver FamilyFest in Aurora and the Pay-What-You-Wish Day at the Clyfford Still Museum! Families also won’t want to miss out on a free day at the Denver Zoo.

February Pay-What-You-Wish Day

The Clyfford Still Museum is excited to host another monthly Pay-What-You-Wish Day, where patrons can gain access to the museum for as little as one penny. Online registration is opened approximately a week beforehand and walk-ins are welcome. This Friday, enjoy the 30-minute Hands-On Mini-Tours at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. These tours are free and no registration is required. Participants will experience a lively, hands-on tour that explores intriguing questions such as: what might a painting sound or smell like? Themes rotate each month, so there’s always something new to discover!

PRO Tip: In 2025, the Clyfford Still Museum will host 12 Pay-What-You-Wish days, each on the first Friday of the month (with the exception of July, due to the 4th being a holiday — instead, July’s date will be on the first Thursday).

7th Annual Denver FamilyFest

The 7th Annual Denver FamilyFest is scheduled for this Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds Event Center in Aurora. This is Colorado’s favorite annual indoor family festival, complete with vendors, kid’s activities, and awesome prizes! The event is sponsored by KOSI 101.1, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, Rocky Mountain PBS, Colorado Parent, and The Denver Gazette. Make sure to arrive hungry so you can take advantage of some of Denver’s best food trucks and don’t miss the chance to take a selfie with The Ghostbusters! Additional activities include an introduction to martial arts, dog training, face painting, and 3D-printed games.

PRO Tip: Parking is free! Only adults need to purchase tickets. Kids aged 12 and under don’t need a ticket, though they must be accompanied by an adult (no drop-offs).

Free Day at the Zoo

The Denver Zoo is excited to offer seven Community Free Days throughout 2025. There are a limited number of tickets available on each free day on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are only available online and walk-ups will not be accepted on Free Days. All guests must have a timed ticket for entry, including kids ages two and under. Groups can book up to five tickets for each Free Day, with a limit of one registration per person.

PRO Tip: Can’t make it to this Sunday’s Free Day at the Zoo? Mark your calendar for upcoming dates on April 6th (tickets released on March 26th), November 7th (tickets released on October 27th), and November 15th (tickets released on November 4th).
