This is a free and dog-friendly experience and all ages are welcome.

Demo Artist: Larysa Medina

Snag a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and experience a chance to connect with artist Larysa Medina at Studio Saturdays in the Cosmic Studio at the Denver Art Museum. Medina will be in the studio this Saturday and the following Saturday (August 22nd). Demo Artist experiences are included with general admission to the museum, occurring from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The Cosmic Studio is generously sponsored by the Robert and Judi Newman Family foundation. The Studio draws inspiration from artists across time and space, inviting visitors to experience the future of art through hands-on activities. Paint, weave and dream your way into the deepest reaches of human creativity and return more connected to yourself and the worlds around you.

Western Welcome Week

This weekend is wrapping up Western Welcome Week, so be sure to enjoy the festivities before they’re gone! This year’s theme is Colorful Colorado 150 Years, which is the perfect tribute to the state’s Sesquicentennial. The 2026 Western Welcome Week is also celebrating 98 years of community tradition. Sunday will end the celebration with the Brad & Mary Bradford Memorial Duck Race at the War Memorial Rose Garden at Little’s Creek and a Concert in the Park with the Littleton Symphony Orchestra at Hudson Gardens & Event Center.

Mountain Music Fest 2026

Mountain Music Fest is presented by the Wooden Hawk Foundation and is built to empower initiatives that both benefit and inspire local high school students. The festival is taking place in nearby Evergreen this Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at picturesque Buchanan Park. Headlined by A-List Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon and Emmy-winning composer Michael Bacon as part of their People in the World Tour, this festival is an all-day, family-friendly and student-run event. Attendees will enjoy the diverse lineup of both regional and national musical acts, as well as interactive student booths, games, contests and food and beverage options. If you’re not sure what to expect from the fest, it can be described as “one part carnival, one part music festival.”
PRO Tip: Proceeds from Mountain Music Fest will be going towards supporting educational initiatives, student programs and community projects.
New Faces Contest Rd. 2

Comedy Works Downtown is hosting the New Faces Contest Rd. 2 this Sunday at 7:00 PM. Tickets are priced at $18. Catch this Annual New Talent Search, which started with 130+ comedians and has now been narrowed down to the top 40. The excitement continues to build, with 7 comics eliminated each week. This is a chance for the stars of tomorrow to get their start, all while competing for cash and prizes in this sizzling summer showcase. Awesome prizes are also given away to audience members each week too. Grab your tickets and end your weekend with an evening of laughter!

3rd Annual Broomfield Jewish Festival

The 3rd Annual Broomfield Jewish Festival is scheduled for this Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The festival will be held at the Palisade Park Amphitheater. New this year will be a live concert to close out the festival under the Colorado Sky. Enjoy a performance by the Rogers Park Band from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM! Additional festival favorites include an NY style deli and kosher food, as well as hands-on experiences such as Matzah baking! Whether you’re craving a corned beef sandwich, sweet noodle kugel, babka, or a giant New York pretzel — you can have it all in one place! Attendees can also explore a pop-up Judaica shop.

SPAMALOT

Catch SPAMALOT at the Buell Theatre through August 23rd, with tickets available here. Described as the “show that set Broadway back 1,000 years,” SPAMALOT is making a proud return in a tour across America. This Tony Award-winning best music comedy is guaranteed to draw laughter from the crowd, with the original Broadway production earning nominations for a whopping 14 Tony Awards and winning 3, including Best Musical! The comedy is lovingly ripped off from the film classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and has everything that makes a great evening at the theatre with friends and loved ones. Denver’s Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Library is excited to welcome area families to a Day of Play this Friday! From 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, embark on an adventure of building a cardboard city in the library’s Lena Archuleta Community Room. This is an exciting way to celebrate the end of summer and connect families, neighbors and new friends. Attendees will help to build the best miniature city that the library has ever seen. Staff will provide the engineers and the architects of the future with all of the supplies they need, such as tape, cardboard, construction paper and more. This is a great opportunity to let imaginations flourish and maybe even discover a new passion for design!
PRO Tip: Attendees should dress to move and get messy. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. No registration is required.
Movies on the Green: Shrek

This is the second to last Movies on the Green of the season, so mark your calendar and don’t miss out on this iconic summertime activity! Catch Shrek this Friday at dusk and make sure to arrive early to set up your lawn chair or to spread out a blanket with a prime view of the screen. Bring a cooler with your favorite snacks and enjoy this community experience in the park. Each Movie on the Green features a concession stand benefitting a local nonprofit organization, so swing by to grab freshly popped popcorn, candy, sodas and bottled water. Additionally, food trucks are often parked at these events as well.

Bright Nights at Four Mile

Bright Nights at Four Mile is returning with a magical menagerie of brightly colored lanterns! General admission will be open through November 8th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. 2026’s rendition of Bright Nights will invite attendees to travel through space and time, from shrinking down to the size of a Four Mile honeybee to exploring life as an insect and walking alongside a giant mantis. From there, cross the globe to discover African animals and take a deep dive into the ocean to spend time with the sharks.
