42nd Annual Shakespeare Festival

Every April, the Denver Public Schools Shakespeare Festival is a sight to behold. 5,000+ students from 75 schools across the area attend the festival and don theatrical costumes. This day-long festival is held in Downtown Denver and provides opportunities for students from kindergarten through high school to perform scenes and sonnets from the works of William Shakespeare. The festival will include a short parade down the 16th Street Mall to the DCPA stages. This is a nationally recognized festival and is one of only two sites to have received the coveted Folders Library Shakespeare Stewardship Award.

Women+Film Festival

The Women+Film Festival is a three-day live event that screens outstanding features, shorts, and documentaries that celebrate female filmmakers both behind the camera and stories of women on the screen. This event is produced by Denver Film and there will additionally be an array of exciting events supporting local talent throughout the weekend. Denver Summit FC vs. San Diego Wave FC

The Denver Summit FC are playing against San Diego at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City this Saturday. The game is scheduled for 6:45 PM and general admission tickets are starting in the low $60s. Currently, Denver Summit FC sits 9th in the NWSL. The American professional team was recently accepted as an expansion team in the National Women’s Soccer League in January of last year, beginning play in 2026. During the team’s home opener, they broke the NWSL attendance record of over 63,000 when the team opened at Empower Field at Mile High!

Audience members may be invited to collaborate with suggestions, stories and potentially even a chance to come onstage. Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

There will be games, music, animal encounters and activities for all ages hosted by the Colorado Department of Human Services.
