WanderFest ’24

New Terrain Brewing Company is hosting the WanderFest this weekend! This is the 8th anniversary of the event, so make sure to swing by to enjoy music, mouthwatering beer releases, food truck goodies, and more. The event has free entry and there will be commemorative pins available at the door each day (while supplies last)! There are four bars, which include three full bars and one rare beer bar for those brews that you won’t want to miss out on. Live music will be performed each day, with acts such as DeadPhish Orchestra, the Taylor Scott Band, Liver Down the River, and Banshee Tree. Keep an eye out for your favorite food trucks on the rotating schedule, with options such as Moontime Crepes, Bob’s Atomic Burgers, Crock Spot, Wheels on Fire, and Darleen’z Dillaz.
PRO Tip: Additional activities at WanderFest include an ice cream truck and a face painter. While all rare beer releases haven’t been announced yet, make sure to sample the Grapefruit Lost on Saturday!
Hyland Hills Summer Concert Series Finale

The finale of the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District’s annual Summer Concert Series has arrived! On Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, come on out and celebrate PARKFEST. The 5280s Band will be playing, so you’ll have live tunes to jam out to and show off your best dance moves. The concert series is hosted at Clear Creek Valley Park and features free admission for the whole family, as well as food trucks and beverages available for purchase. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered. 2024 marks the 7th annual celebration of PARKFEST, so it’s sure to be out of the world amazing! Tasty eats will be available from food trucks such as El Jefe’s Smothered Brats and Tots, Infinitus Pie Pizza, and Smokin’ Bones BBQ.
PRO Tip: Feel free to bring along a lawn chair or a blanket so you can secure your spot in the park.
Lawless: A Fall Fashion Experience

On Friday, the MCA Denver will be hosting A Fall Fashion Experience at 7:00 PM. Tickets are priced between $27 and $30, so grab yours now while they’re available! This isn’t your standard-issue fashion show, it’s meant to be an anthropology. Attendees will discover how clothing can be used as a storytelling tool. The show is designed to be an immersive experience that will feature work from designers such as Allegra, Chance of Uniq Jeans, Menez to Society and Faatma Be One. With over 10 countries represented in the show, this is sure to be a one-of-a-kind event that any fashion aficionados won’t want to miss out on.

Colorado Fall Home Show

Make the trip to the Colorado Convention Center this weekend to attend the annual Colorado Fall Home Show. This one-stop shop marketplace provides many ideas for remodeling, refreshing, and renewing your space. Whether you’re looking to get a jump on the fall and winter seasons or you just want to get inspired โ there will be over 200 exhibitors who are experienced in renovations, remodeling, and sustainable living. A few of this year’s vendors and exhibitors include Apollo Energy, Natural Living Foundation, Garage Guru, Helix Painting, Solara Pro Alternative Energy, and The Heat Pump Store.
PRO Tip: Tickets for the Colorado Fall Home Show are priced at $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. On Sunday, admission is free from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Colorado Rockies Versus Chicago Cubs

Show your support for the home team as they take on Chicago this weekend across a three-day home stand. Kicking off on Friday at 6:40 PM, grab the First Responder Appreciation Ticket Package to show appreciation for the men and women who respond to emergencies. Denver Jazz Festival

The Denver Jazz Festival will be held at The Studio Loft at Ellie Caulkins Opera House starting this Friday at 8:30 PM and running through the early hour of Monday at midnight. This live music festival is a great way to enjoy social dancing and performances. This three-night event features world-class music and is hosted by CMDance and the Denver Arts Venues. Genres are focused primarily on vintage jazz, as well as blues from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. This year’s bands feature Eyal Vilner & His Hot 5, Jeremy Mohney & His Band, and Ian Hutchinson’s Colorado Band featuring Sweet B. At the venue, you’ll find a spacious dance floor, a full cash bar, and workshops and lectures from internationally renowned instructors during the day.

20th Annual Heroes and Villains Team Hope 5K

You won’t want to miss out on this two-decade long-running event this Saturday! The Heroes and Villains Walk and Run will be hosted at Stapleton Central Park at 9:00 AM. Registration kicks off an hour earlier at 8:00 AM. Participants are welcome to walk or run and runners will be able to compete for awards in particular categories, such as adult male (13+), adult female (13+), and youth male and female events (12 and under). This year, organizers are bringing back the timed run!
PRO Tip: Feel free to dress up as your favorite superhero or villain โ it makes the event even more fun! There will be a costume competition as well for the most creative costumes, most team participation, and even a pet costume category!
Denver Highlands Oktoberfest

This weekend, make sure to mark down the inaugural Highlands Oktoberfest & Market on your calendar. This free community event will be taking place along 32nd Street from Irving to Perry and will feature a full day of festivities โ including live music, authentic Bavarian fare, a themed contest, a marketplace with local makers, and even a Kidtoberfest area with an array of family-friendly activities. Adults can enjoy the bar areas, where traditional Munich beer will be available for purchase.

Agricultural Festival

The Agricultural Festival is presented by the city of Aurora and the Denver Botanic Gardens. On Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, head over to the Plains Conservation Center to learn about where food comes from and how everyone can do their part to support healthy environments via regenerative agriculture and sustainable eating. There will be wagon rides, as well as tours of the 1880s homestead and tipi camp. Kiddos will enjoy the farm animal interactions and there will be food trucks, vendors, and more on-site to make for an eventful afternoon! Admission is priced at $5 per vehicle.
PRO Tip: Bags will be subject to inspection. No pets are allowed, aside from trained service animals, and no outside alcohol is permitted. Make sure to leave glass bottles at home as well!
49th Annual Woodcarving Show

The 49th Annual Woodcarving Show will be held at the Apex Community Recreation Center in Arvada. The event is open to the public, and there is a nominal entry fee of $3. There will be a competition and sale, with items including wood carvings, books, tools, wood, supplies, and more. Both Saturday and Sunday hours are scheduled for 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There is free parking as well!

Denver Polo Club Closing Day & Season Party

A few times a year, Denver Polo Club opens its doors to the public with the exciting Sunday Funday tailgate series. Coloradans can park and party right next to the action, taking in the world’s most heart-pounding sport, while horses and players race by. In addition to the polo matches, adult guests will love the outdoor cocktail bar. There will also be a DJ, yard games, a traditional divot stomp with a sip of complimentary prosecco sponsored by Bentley Denver, and opportunities to meet the polo ponies and players. The polo match is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Sunnyside Music Festival

The Sunnyside Music Festival is set to be hosted in Denver’s Chaffee Park. This volunteer-run nonprofit organization helps to build community through a free, family-friendly music festival. This annual event helps to support bands, businesses, artisans, and even youth organizations through year-round programming. The festival will feature a kid’s area from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where there will be play-based experiences for the whole family to enjoy. Activities include a climbing wall, airbrush tattoos, story time, arts and crafts, an instrument petting zoo, and more. This year’s music lineup features Dzirae Gold, The Reals, Rosa Hueka, the Taylor Scott Band, and Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue.

Maker Mornings: Exploring Cyanotype Printing

Maker Mornings will be hosted on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver. In September, little ones will be exploring cyanotype printing. The morning will additionally include a story time with a librarian from the Denver Public Library system. These activities are designed for children between the ages of 15 months to 8 years old. Of course, siblings of any age are welcome.
PRO Tip: The Maker Mornings program is included with museum admission. No registration is required and children 17 and under are always free at the museum.
TriceraTOTs: Popsicle Stick Dinosaur Puzzle

TriceraTOTs is a popular pre-k and kindergarten in-person program at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center located near Red Rocks Entrance 1 in Golden. Pricing is set at $5 per participating child and any accompanying kiddos under the age of 2 are free if they aren’t participating. The upcoming activity involves crafting a fun dinosaur-matching puzzle using popsicle sticks! There will be a 9:00 AM session, as well as a 10:00 AM session. Tickets can be pre-purchased online.
