There’s plenty to do around town for Mother’s Day — so take your pick and make sure mom knows how loved and appreciated she is.

Colorado Rockies vs. Texas Rangers

Is mom a baseball fan? Then snag tickets to catch the Colorado Rockies when they take on the Texas Rangers this weekend at Denver’s Coors Field on Mother’s Day weekend. The three-game series kicks off on Friday, May 10th, and continues through Sunday, May 12th. On Sunday’s game, grab your Mother’s Day belt bag giveaway and enjoy an early game at 1:10 PM. Tickets can be picked up for as little as $10 or you can splurge and grab prime seating that is sure to impress mom.

PRO Tip: The convenient location of Coors Field in Denver’s LoDo neighborhood makes it easy to plan a brunch before the game or grab a few drinks at a nearby bar after the Rockies win!

Mother’s Day Buffet Brunch @ the Denver Art Museum

Where? 100 West 14th Avenue Parkway

Surprise mom with brunch at the Denver Art Museum on May 12th. The buffet runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and features delicious options like eggs Benedict, prime rib, smoked salmon, and an array of child-friendly bites that will ensure everybody has a plate that makes them smile. The menu begins at $39.25 for adult art museum members and $49.25 for non-member adults. Kiddos can eat for $15-$20. Seating will be limited, so book your tickets in advance!

PRO Tip: Save room for something sweet! The dessert section of the menu includes decadent options like chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, and banana cream cake.

Mother’s Day Celebration @ Painting with a Twist

Where? 1962 Blake Street

If mom has an artistic side, sign the family up for a class at Painting with a Twist. This Mother’s Day celebration is scheduled for 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, so you’ll have plenty of time for a dinner reservation afterward. Outside alcohol is not allowed in class per Colorado state law, so choose from the on-site selection of wine, beer, and mixed drinks from Bomber Bar. Painters of all ages are welcome to attend this class, so mom can enjoy time spent with even the littlest kiddos in this family-friendly activity.

PRO Tip: This event includes the opportunity to create a natural-scented soy candle for guests who arrive 30 minutes before the beginning of class. Crafters can choose between 24 scents to make their custom candles.

Colorado Symphony: Brahms Symphony No. 3

Where? 1000 14th Street

The Colorado Symphony is presenting Brahms Symphony No. 3 from May 10th through the 12th. The performance begins in the evening on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and kicks off earlier on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Moms everywhere will enjoy the sweeping, lyrical string lines and the striking autumnal woodwind passages that make this symphony truly unique. Featuring performances from the electrifying violinist, Stefan Jackiw, this event is sure to be lively in its own right. Pricing at Boettcher Concert Hall can range from $15 to $100+, so there’s something for every budget.

PRO Tip: If you’re interested in joining the symphony for preludes and talkbacks, there will be a prelude at 12:00 PM on Sunday and a talkback on Saturday with both the conductor and violinist.

Mother’s Day 5K

Where? 1700 York Street

The Mother’s Day 5K will be hosted in Denver’s City Park on May 12th, 2024. If mom enjoys staying active with the family, there’s no greater way to celebrate this special day than with an invigorating run or walk around the park. The scenic course will include lively volunteers and spectators and there will be a pancake and sausage breakfast with orange juice generously provided by Flippin’ Flapjacks for participants. Roses will be handed out to all of the lovely ladies at the finish line.

PRO Tip: There will be parking available at East High School, as well as parking lots along 23rd Avenue. Participants in the 5K are asked to refrain from parking in the lots designated for the zoo and the Museum of Nature and Science.

Victorian Mother’s Day Tea

Where? 1340 Pennsylvania Street

Mix up tradition this Mother’s Day by snagging tickets to this Victorian tea party at Denver’s Molly Brown House Museum. Tea time runs between 10:20 AM and 12:20 PM on May 12th and for $50, guests will learn about Margaret Brown with a self-guided exploration throughout her historic home and high tea. The light meal will include fruit, scones, tea sandwiches, desserts, and of course, Margaret’s very own special blend of tea. Treat mom to a fun afternoon learning about history and enjoying a sit-down tea service with her favorite child.

Spring Pottery Sale

Arvada Center’s Spring Pottery Sale is being hosted from May 7th through May 12th. Bring mom out for the final days of the sale while you celebrate her special day. Whether you’re in the market for functional, hand-crafted pottery or a unique gift fit for a wonderful mother — the sale has a little bit of everything. This annual show at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities presents pieces including dinnerware, jewelry, and even sculptures. Wash Park Home Tour & Mother’s Day Market Street Fair

Where? 100 & 200 Blocks of Wash Park

On May 11th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Wash Park Home Tour is coming to town. This annual community event is a showcase of four distinctive homes in the East Washington Park neighborhood. Attendees can tour the properties and shop local artisans and vendors while enjoying on-site entertainment at the Mother’s Day Market Street Fair.

PRO Tip: This event is hosted by Steele Elementary’s PTA and raises funds to support programs and services that help to make the neighborhood’s DPS elementary school such a special place. A percentage of the funds will go to benefit families in need through the LOVVE Project which supplies fresh food, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.

Yoga at Red Rocks

Where? 18300 West Alameda Parkway

What better way to wake up on Mother’s Day than with yoga at Red Rocks? Enjoy a flowing vinyasa-style class at the iconic amphitheater at 9:00 AM. All levels of experience are welcome and there will be an optional group hike afterward on a 1.5-mile trail with an elevation gain of 500 feet. The pace will be set so everyone is comfortable and the hike is estimated to last for an hour. Join the waitlist for the yoga class and once the weather report is all clear, interested parties will be booked for $20.

PRO Tip: No yoga mat? No problem! There will be mats available to borrow at the event.

Bring mom out to Second Sundays at Centennial Promenade on May 12th to experience this exciting handmade artist event that features over 70 artisans, crafters, and food experts who call Colorado home. Mom can shop for clothing, food, and an assortment of unique goods that are thoughtfully curated by local small businesses. May is the kickoff for this event, so if you can’t make it out for Mother’s Day Sunday, you’ll have 5 more opportunities to check it out until October!

Hangin’ N Slangin’ Markets

The Hangin’ N Slangin’ pop-up markets are hosted at a lot on Larimer twice a month, on second Saturdays and last Sundays. This fun RiNo event runs all summer long and officially wraps up on November 9th. This flea market-style community event showcases local small businesses and creates a welcoming space for neighbors to hang out and enjoy food and music. Markets are always free to attend and vendors are hand-selected to ensure a curated experience.

PRO Tip: Want to make a day of it? Head to nearby galleries or restaurants in RiNo, such as Visions West Contemporary, Artists Among Us, or Denver Central Market and Nocturne to keep the good times rolling with mom.

Second Saturdays at the Shops at Northfield

Where? 8340 Northfield Boulevard

Kick off Mother’s Day early with a trip to the Shops at Northfield on Saturday, May 11th. The art festival runs from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and features over 70 local artists, crafters, vendors, and food trucks. The whole family is welcome and everyone will have ample opportunity to find gifts and tasty snacks. Better yet, the event is dog-friendly as well so even the furriest member of the family can tag along.

PRO Tip: Entry to the festival is totally free and there’s plenty of free parking. There are ADA-accessible restrooms onsite also.

Sloan’s Lake Spring Bazaar

Where? 1611 Raleigh Street

Sloan’s Lake Spring Bazaar is set to be held on May 11th and 12th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be over 80 curated vendors, with local businesses and makers featuring jewelry, fashion, stationary, bath and body, home goods, and more. Attendees will also enjoy DIY craft workshops, live DJ sets, craft cocktails, and plenty of street food options. Grab shop & sip tickets to imbibe in springtime cocktails or stick to the bottomless mimosas, beer, and wine.

PRO Tip: Drink token packages are $40 at the door, so purchase yours in advance to save. There will also be a limited edition Denver BAZAAR x Atomic Child Tote for sale to store all your finds!
