The Great American Beer Festival

Get ready to raise a glass at The Great American Beer Festival! Hailing as the nation’s favorite beer festival, the event is making a proud return to Denver starting this Thursday! The festival represents the largest collection of U.S. beverages and alcohol ever served in a public tasting event, along with a private competition. Held at the Colorado Convention Center, this 21 and up event has everything you’ve ever wanted to sample and then some. Whether you want to meet the brewer, support small and independent craft brewers or simply chill — there’s something for everyone!

Celebrate Great American Beer Fest @ Milk Market

Everybody knows that October means the Great American Beer Fest is returning to Denver. If you want to skip the main event but you still want to sample some of the nation’s top brews, kick off the fun at 11:00 AM at Milk Market! This celebration is in partnership with Hogshead Brewing and Wibby Brewing. Guests can enjoy beers, swag and everything they’ve ever wanted to know about beer and brewing. The lineup will feature the Lightshine Helles Lager, the Moondoor Dunkel, the Volksbier Vienna Amber Lager and more from Wibby, along with the Regai Mexican Style Lager, the Chin Wag Extra Special Bitter, the Hoban’s Irish Red and more from Hogshead. 

PRO Tip: Representatives from the breweries will be at Stranded Pilgrim this Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, so come on out and kick off the Great American Beer Fest!

Free Comedy Night

It’s time for another rendition of Free Comedy Night at Spirit Hound Distillers this Friday! At 8:00 PM, get ready to laugh until you cry at the Highlands location, where the cocktails are strong and the punchlines are even stronger! Enjoy local comics as they take the stage for an evening of nonstop laughter, awesome vibes and award-winning craft spirits that pair perfectly with a night out with friends. Doors open at 7:30 PM, giving you a half hour to grab something to drink and find a seat!

Aurora Borealis Festival

Have you always wanted to experience the magic of the northern lights? If so, then this weekend is your opportunity to dive into a weekend of wonder at the Aurora Borealis Festival. This stunning recreation of the phenomenon includes interactive lighting installations, a Global Gift Bazaar and a Flavors of Aurora food court where you can satisfy your tastebuds. Tickets for the festival are on sale now for $15 plus a $2.33 fee. General admission includes a reserved timed ticket, viewing of the Aurora Borealis effect beginning at sunset, onstage entertainment and access to 10+ food trucks and 20 retail vendors.

Castle Rock Home Show

Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars

With hockey season in full swing, it’s time to support the Colorado Avalanche when they play at Ball Arena! Whether you have season tickets or you go to a couple of games every season, this Saturday’s match against the Dallas Stars is sure to be a good one. Arena parking lots open three hours prior to the game, so arrive with plenty of time to spare. Doors will open 60 minutes before puck drop for general admission and 90 minutes before the game for club and suite levels. Remember, concessions are cashless at Ball Arena!

PRO Tip: Standard admission tickets start at low as $76, so grab yours ASAP. 

Paul McCartney: Got Back Tour

Catch Paul McCartney at Coors Field as he stops by Denver on his Got Back Tour! Fans can expect a jam-packed setlist of hits, including songs by his former bands the Beatles and Wings, along with classics from his solo career. The concert will start at 7:30 PM, with parking lots opening at 4:30 PM and Coors Field gates opening at 5:30 PM. No bags are permitted with the exception of purses and medical supplies. SnowShape Winter Fitness

This beloved Mexican-themed entertainment destination is planning special “Casa BOOnita” activations through November 2nd. This month-long celebration will transform the restaurant into a unique hybrid experience that you’ll have to see to believe. Patrons will experience smoky spirits and the festivities that surround the traditional Día de Los Muertos celebrations. Guests are even encouraged to wear costumes or to dress as their favorite Casa Bonita characters (like Black Bart and the Sheriff)! Expect larger-than-life installations, special menu items and hidden surprises around every corner.

PRO Tip: Make sure to try the signature cocktail and snag some memorable photos! Casa Bonita team members will also be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters (of all ages)!

Ghosts in the Gardens — Open Air Scare

Where? 1007 York Street
When? October 10th-12th, 17th-19th & 30th

Do you dare to experience the Denver Botanic Gardens during the Halloween season? This after-dark event is sure to be packed with spine-tingling stories and spooky good times for all. Kicking off this Friday through Sunday from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, get ready to brave the dark paths as storytellers share real staff encounters and intriguing pieces of history of a place formerly known as “The Boneyard.” Children ages 12+ are welcome to attend with their parents, though the tour is not recommended for younger children. Tickets are not available onsite, so grab yours in advance.

PRO Tip: If you can conjure up the courage, grab your tickets ASAP here! This is a self-guided tour, with guests invited to visit the storytellers in any order of their choosing. Expect to spend 90 minutes strolling the premises. 

Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield Farms

Where? 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road

With the familiar crispness of fall returning to the air, it’s never been a better time to dive into a Pumpkin Festival than this weekend! Head over to Chatfield Farms for this treasured October tradition that’s fun for the entire family. The festival will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday through Sunday. Tickets include access to the 10-acre pumpkin patch, the Corn Maze and an array of children’s activities, as well as magic shows, live music and wagon rides. Pumpkin prices will vary depending on size, with the average gourd costing around $8. If possible, bring a wagon to transport pumpkins for convenience. The festival also offers free pumpkin daycare so you can enjoy the rest of the festivities while your little orange gourd friend hangs out with its friends. 

PRO Tip: There are a handful of activities that will be offered at an additional fee, including Ninja Warrior, Nurf Terf, and food and beverage vendors. 

Breakfast Fly-In & Treats on the Tarmac

Wings Over the Rockies is hosting an extra-special Breakfast Fly-In this Saturday, which will feature a spooktastic day of trick-or-treating for the little ones. Don your Halloween costume and meet the pilots as you snag candy from cockpits. Attendees can explore the tarmac and view airplanes up close in a safe, controlled environment. There will be breakfast options on sale from a local food truck (Cruz In & Eat), as well as interactive exhibits and stimulators to explore. 

PRO Tip: Pre-purchase your tickets for Saturday’s Breakfast Fly-In here. Seniors ages 65+, children ages 4 to 16, and active military members and veterans receive discounted ticket prices. Children ages 3 and under are free!

Free Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Where? 2001 Colorado Boulevard 
When? October 12th

This Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, satisfy your unending science curiosity for free at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science! Enjoy a SCFD free day, with no tickets needed for general museum admission. All you have to do is walk up anytime and gain access to the Wildlife Halls and to any of the permanent exhibits. This Sunday’s theme is “Out! at the Museum,” which will provide a fun and welcoming atmosphere for the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. The celebration will include special performances, music and activities suitable for the whole family! There are only two more SCFD free days for 2025, so make them count.

PRO Tip: Separate tickets will be required if you plan to visit the planetarium or one of the temporary museum exhibits.
