Fan Expo Denver

Where? 700 14th Street
When? July 3rd-6th

Fan Expo is the weekend hotspot for anyone and everyone who’s into comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming, or cosplay! Feel right at home with your fandom family in Denver – all 110,000 of them! Show hours kick off from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, followed by 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and until 5:00 PM on Sunday! The expo will be held at the Colorado Convention Center and you can shop for tickets here. Grab a 4-day pass for $109 if you don’t want to miss a moment or purchase a single-day pass, which ranges from $30 to $71, depending on which day you plan to attend.

PRO Tip: Families can shop from discounted rates if they have children ages 6 to 12. Youth ages 13 to 17 get in for a discounted rate, as well!

Rob Schneider

Where? 5345 Landmark Place & 1226 15th Street

Rob Schneider is making appearances at Comedy Works South and Comedy Works Downtown this weekend, kicking things off on Thursday with a sold-out show at 7:30 PM! On Saturday, Schneider will be performing twice at the downtown location at 6:00 PM and 8:15 PM, with limited tickets still available! On Sunday, the comedian will wrap things up with a final show at the south location in Greenwood Village at 5:00 PM. Hailed as a household name and a comedy star, Rob Schneider is well known for his comedic acting and his starring role in the Netflix series Real Rob. After first coming to public prominence on Saturday Night Live with the likes of Adam Sandler, Tim Meadows, and David Spade, Schneider has starred in some of the best comedic movies of the past decades, such as Grown Ups, Big Daddy, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and many more.

Blues Traveler @ Red Rocks

Blues Traveler is coming to Red Rocks Amphitheater this Friday at 6:00 PM. Every year since 1994 (with the exceptions of 1999 and 2020), Blues Traveler has headlined a show at Red Rocks. This tradition is a favorite for many and attracts fans from all across the country to Morrison for the 4th of July. Featuring opening acts by Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors, fans won’t want to miss this show. The American rock band formed in 1987 in New Jersey as a high school garage band and has since been known for their creative segues during their live shows, making for an engaging experience for fans.

PRO Tip: The band has been known to debut new songs and bring back their old songs during Red Rocks performances. Fans are permitted to record the show, so keep your camera at the ready! If you can’t make the show, the set will be streamed live through nugs.net

Deadbeats Backyard Jamboree

This Friday, jam out at the Deadbeats Backyard Jamboree in Civic Center Park! Featuring the 5th annual hot dog eating competition and a range of artists, including headliner Zeds Dead, this is a can’t-miss weekend event! This is an all-ages show, so bring the kids or grab a babysitter for the afternoon so mom and dad can relax. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $89.95 and going up to $124.72 for GA VIP. The fun kicks off at 3:00 PM and is scheduled to continue until 10:00 PM.

PRO Tip: Consider taking the light rail for easy access to the park or reserve parking in advance at a nearby lot! Arrive early for the best selection.

Tennyson Street First Friday Art Walk

On the first Friday of the month, head over to Tennyson Street to explore its vibrant collection of small businesses, restaurants, galleries, outfitters, and more! The neighborhood is known for its diverse heritage and in addition to a thriving arts scene, Tennyson Street is also hailed for a number of parks and green spaces that are perfect for taking a break to enjoy the fresh air. These first Friday walks are a great way to introduce yourself to the community if you’re new in town or a great way to stay engaged with other locals!

PRO Tip: Want to grab a bite? No problem! There will be food trucks offering up delicious plates, as well as nearby restaurants that you can enjoy.

Movies at McGregor: 4th of July Double Feature

Whether you’re a self-described film fanatic or you just enjoy catching a flick with friends, this Friday’s double feature at McGregor Square should be at the top of your to-do list! Bring out a blanket and snag a comfy spot on the lawn or grab a table in the plaza. Both options are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be an array of snack options available for purchase, such as popcorn, candy, soft drinks, and even bar selections for guests ages 21 and up. The LED screen provides great visibility and the featured films will offer closed captioning in English. This Friday’s double feature kicks off at 2:00 PM with Top Gun and follows up with Top Gun: Maverick at 4:00 PM.

PRO Tip: Outside food and beverages are not allowed. Dogs are permitted in the plaza but not on the lawn.

Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting Kansas City

When? July 4th

The Colorado Rapids are taking on Sporting Kansas City this Friday, so get ready to celebrate Independence Day at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park! The game is scheduled for 8:30 PM but plan to arrive early for the 29th annual 4thFEST at the park. This fun-filled celebration is capped off with the grand finale, which is the largest public fireworks show in the entire state of Colorado! Additional activities throughout the evening include live music, a bounce house, soccer darts, a rock-climbing wall, a mobile ropes course and so much more. There will also be a Block Party located on the South side of the stadium with a live DJ, drinks, food trucks, and an LED wall that will stream the game live.

PRO Tip: Both the Block Party and 4thFEST open at 5:00 PM. The festivities are free and open to the public, even if you don’t have tickets for the soccer game!

Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago White Sox

When? July 4th-6th

This 4th of July weekend, ring in the nation’s independence at the ballpark! Kicking things off on Friday at 6:10 PM, celebrate with the Rockies as they take on the Chicago White Sox at Coors Field. There will be a fireworks show to end the night presented by Coca-Cola and King Soopers. Saturday’s 7:10 PM game will also feature fireworks. On Sunday, several players and/or coaches will be available for autographs at the bottom of select sections from 11:40 AM to 12:00 PM, giving you an opportunity to get your swag signed before the 1:10 PM game!

PRO Tip: Sunday’s game features a special ticket package to commemorate Military Appreciation Day. Veterans, active-duty military, and family members can enjoy a pregame parade around the track. Members of the U.S. Military can snag tickets for as low as $9 for the game!

Cherry Creek Arts Festival

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is being held this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — giving you three days to swing by! The festival offers an abundance of opportunities to discover inspiration, connect with art and artists, and expand your worldview. The annual festival fills the Cherry Creek North streets with 260 juried artists and plenty of additional room for live music, kids’ activities, food, and more. The festival is free and open to the public and will be open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and until 6:00 PM on Sunday. Saturday will feature a performance by Cleo Parker Robinson Dance at 8:30 PM. Free tickets are available here and when you register, you get a buy one, get one drink!

PRO Tip: The Cherry Creek Arts Festival will be situated along 2nd Avenue from Clayton to Adams Street and between 2nd and 3rd Avenues from Detroit to Adams Street.

Tiki Takeover @ Spirit Hound

Don your best tropical attire for the Tiki Takeover at Spirit Hound Denver! Trade in the Rocky Mountains for chill tropic vibes and celebrate this inaugural event across two sun-soaked days. Tiki Takeover will feature tropical cocktails, light bites, and outdoor fun and summer games. Who knows, you may even encounter some surprises throughout the weekend! The Denver tasting room will be spectacularly transformed into a tiki oasis. Baby Storytime

Families are invited to Denver’s Sam Gary Branch Library this Friday for Baby Storytime! This program is a great opportunity to explore new stories, songs, rhymes, and age-appropriate fun for children ages 0 to 18 months along with their parents or caregivers. Attendees can enjoy playtime and social time immediately following storytime. Doors open at 10:00 AM, with storytime scheduled from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM. Space is limited, so arrive early to ensure you can be accommodated!

PRO Tip: There is no registration required for this program. Storytime will be held in the community room at the library.

SuperHeroes Run

Where? Piney Creek Hollow Park
When? July 5th

Lace-up your shoes and hit the pavement for the SuperHeroes Run this Saturday in nearby Centennial. This race will be held at Piney Creek Hollow Park and everyone is invited to dress up as their favorite hero. All paces and ages (under 18 with a guardian) are welcome to run or walk. In an effort to ensure this event is as welcoming and stress-free as possible, there will be no equipment or setup and timing is optional. Registration for this race includes an awesome swag bag complete with a running t-shirt, a finisher’s towel, a finisher’s medal, and a digital training pack.

PRO Tip: If you sign up less than two weeks before the race, your shirt will likely arrive after the run! There’s still time to register, so snag your spot in one of Saturday’s waves ASAP.

Colorado Renaissance Festival: Children’s Weekend

Are you ready for exciting themed weekends at the Colorado Renaissance Festival? Well, grab the kids because this weekend, it’s all about the children! On Saturday and Sunday, children ages 12 and under can experience the magic of the festival for free. Parents can grab their tickets for $32, which covers single-day admission on any festival day. Special activities will include the Prince, Princess, and Pirate Costume Contest on the Rose Stage at 12:00 PM, as well as knighting ceremonies and photo ops with the King and Queen.

PRO Tip: All food and beverages at the festival are cash only! While costumes are permitted and encouraged, full face masks are not.
