This weekend’s lineup is as exciting as it is diverse, from live music at Mission Ballroom, the last weekend of Water for Elephants at Buell Theatre, to the All-Out Mardi Crawl — you can do it all and then some in Denver. 

CHSAA State Wrestling Championship

Where? 1000 Chopper Circle
When? February 19th-21st

Catch the 2026 CHSAA Colorado State Wrestling Championship at Ball Area. State wrestling titles are up for grabs this weekend at the tournament. High school teams from across the state will be congregating in Denver for the championships, which will feature four wrestlers from each weight class. Standard admission is priced at $24.85, which includes any applicable fees. All day passes are available for sessions 1 and 2. 

PRO Tip: Come on out and cheer on your student or a local school as they fight for a title!

Icelantic’s Winter Mission 

Where? 4242 Wynkoop Street
When? February 20th

Icelantic’s Winter Mission will be held at Mission Ballroom this year, after being rescheduled from Red Rocks. The show will be 16 and over, with features and openers including BigXthaPlug, Smino, Mick Jenkins and PawPaw Rod. Doors will open at 5:30 PM for the 6:30 PM show. There will also be a happy hour from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM outside of the venue.

PRO Tip: Tickets are still available through AXS, including premium options, official resale and limited preferred viewing balcony rail upgrades! 

2026 Colorado Environmental Film Festival

The 2026 Colorado Environmental Film Festival will be held this Friday through Sunday in Golden, followed by an online encore from February 23rd through March 1st. This weekend’s venue will be the Green Center at the Colorado School of Mines. Grab your pass or tickets now, with options available for those looking to watch all the films or just a few. You can even mix and match in-person and virtual screenings depending on your schedule! There will be 50+ new films screening, so there’s something for everyone. Stay updated with the film guide here. 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the film fest, so come on out and show some support!

5th Annual 90s Party

Where? 4361 South Broadway

This Saturday, check out the 5th Annual 90s Party at Western Sky Bar & Taproom. The event will feature live music from the Ninety Percent 90s. The venue will feature themed cocktails and snacks, so be sure to swing by and see what the hype is all about! Themed attire is strongly encouraged, so don your best 1990s fit. This is a ticketed event, so snag your tickets ASAP so you don’t miss out on one of the most iconic eras. The Ninety Percent 90s is a 3-piece cover band covering all the best (and worst) hits from the decade. Think Sublime, Nirvana, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and more. In fact, if it’s a hit from the 90s, there’s a 40% chance the band will know it 100% of the time!

2026 Milagros del Corazón

Join the Chicano Humanities & Arts Council for the 2026 Milagros del Corazón Community Art Exhibition and Fundraiser this weekend. On Saturday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, attendees can view over 500 uniquely decorated hearts that have been contributed by artists and community members across the Denver Metro Area. The event will be held at the Space Annex. CHAC invites both artist members and the general public to craft these unique art hearts for the inspiring collection at the free community exhibition and fundraiser. 

PRO Tip: Want to get involved? Buy and decorate a $5 heart or pay it forward and donate a heart. There will also be VIP and Ultra VIP tickets available. 

Celtic Session with Denver Celtic Night

This Saturday, celebrate Celtic music at Denver Celtic Night at Fiction Beer Company. This fun jam session will be held from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM on the third Saturday of the month. There will be an hour of tune learning followed by a faster-paced session. This is a free event and no registration is required. Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss out!

PRO Tip: Explore the menu at Fiction Beer Company here, with options for everyone. Beers range from light, hoppy, bold, malty, sour and even barrel-aged! There are also non-alcoholic options, hard seltzers and snacks on the menu. 

RMRA’s 8th Annual Mardi Gras Fête

The annual Mardi Gras Fête will be held this Saturday from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Baldoria on the Water in nearby Lakewood. Join the fun for this spectacular weekend event in support of the Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The festive night of fun will feature delicious Creole-inspired cuisine, an open bar and lively casino tables. Make sure to kick up your heels with DJ Trip after dinner or strike a pose in the photo booth to commemorate the night. There will also be opportunities to bid on incredible auction items. Tickets start at $110 per person or $1,000 for a table of up to 10.

PRO Tip: Every ticket will include a souvenir Mardi Gras glass, as well as $100 in casino cash for gaming fun and parking is complimentary!

All-Out Mardi Crawl

This Sunday, join fellow runners and outdoor enthusiasts at the Ralston Creek Trail in Arvada. There will be a half marathon option, with prices starting at $85.80 for adults and discounted rates for children and seniors. There will also be a 10K route, a 5K option and a virtual option so racers can participate from anywhere! This year’s race designs have been designed by the race director for a refreshed, updated look across the brand new banner and finish line arch, as well as exciting new swag and awesome brag tags for alumni. 

PRO Tip: In addition to fantastic prizes from partners, the overall winners of the Mardi Crawl will have the opportunity to take home cash prizes. There will also be dog tags available for purchase to mark your four-legged friend’s accomplishments as well!

Water for Elephants

Water for Elephants The Broadway Musical is still showing at Buell Theatre through this Sunday, so you have one last weekend to catch the performance! From the critically acclaimed bestselling novel, this spectacle-filled musical has been described by The New York Times as “stunning, emotional, heart-filled and gorgeously imaginative.” The show is part of the 2025/26 Broadway subscription package. DCPA subscribers can take advantage of a host of perks, such as the best seats for the best prices, free ticket exchanges and more.

PRO Tip: The estimated run time of the musical is 2 hours and 20 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. The show is recommended for ages 8 and up. Smoke, haze and gunshot sound effects are used in the production. 

The Casa Bonita Murder Mystery Show

If you love a “who done it?,” then this is for you! Next Gallery is excited to present The Casa Bonita Murder Mystery Show through March 1st. This is the 9th annual presentation and celebration of all things Casa Bonita. The plethora of entries span many mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaic, collage, board game, letterpress, evidence board and even refried beans! Kiddos were encouraged to enter with a tamer theme of “Someone swiped my sopapilla!” The Mystery Show is sponsored by Colorado+ Brewery and Taphouse from Wheat Ridge. 

PRO Tip: Mark your calendar for the Awards Ceremony on February 27th. The ceremony will celebrate the best pieces in the exhibition, so swing by to find out “Who Done It” the best!

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

Get the weekend going with the Lunar New Year Celebration at the Far East Center or check out the All Ages Coloring Cafe at the Ford-Warren Library in Denver. You’ll also want to snag a ticket to ride a Galloping Goose motorcar! 

Create Together: All Ages Coloring Cafe

The Ford-Warren Branch Library in Denver invites area families to the Create Together program, which will be held in the Community Room #1. From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, everyone is invited to come sit, chat and color alongside community members. Whether you’re 8 or 80, this is sure to be an exciting opportunity to explore art, craft supplies and building materials and get hands on as you connect with fellow library enthusiasts. There will be coloring pages for all skill levels, as well as a variety of materials and colors to choose from. 

PRO Tip: Light snacks and calm music will be provided. Create Together is facilitated by a staff member who is passionate about teaching art techniques, so come say hi!

Far East Center Lunar New Year

The Far East Center is excited to ring in the Year of the Horse at one of Colorado’s most iconic Lunar New Year events! This weekend, join thousands of families, food lovers and cultural enthusiasts for a spectacular two days filled with traditional performances, vibrant markets, cultural demos and much more. Experience the magic of the Lunar New Year with lion and dragon dances and a feast of tasty offerings from amazing local restaurants and pop-up vendors. 2026 will mark the 35th annual celebration and admission is free! Saturday’s schedule kicks off with Pi Pa instrumentalists and Taiko drummers, followed by guest speakers and a Shaolin Hung Mei Lion Dance. Sunday will cap off the weekend with the Lotus Dance Crew and the 86 x 68 Dance Crew.

PRO Tip: There will be a kids cultural fashion show this weekend, so families are encouraged to dress the little ones in traditional attire!

Galloping Goose Rides

Where? 17155 West 44th Avenue

Catch a ride on board the Rio Grande Southern’s unique “Galloping Goose” motorcars this weekend. Rides depart every half hour from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on select Tuesdays and Sundays from mid-January through early May. This Sunday will feature departures, so don’t miss out! Visitors are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before their departure time to allow adequate time for parking and check-in. If you have a little one who loves all things trains, then you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity!

PRO Tip: You can order your tickets online. Admission and a ride is priced at $17 for adults, $7 for children ages 2 to 17 and $15 for seniors ages 60+. Museum members and children under 2 are free.
