Hit the town this weekend in the Mile High City with Oktoberfest celebrations, creepy after-hours events, wine walks and even live comedy shows! Whatever you’re into, you can find it all in Denver this weekend. 

Basstoberfest

Where? 2875 Blake Street
When? September 26th

Basstoberfest is the official Oktoberfest afterparty, so you won’t want to miss out on what’s sure to be a raging good time. Bierstadt Lagerhaus and Ze Fuss are teaming up to collaborate on Denver’s ultimate post-Oktoberfest celebration to keep the good times rolling. The lineup is set to include Fallster, BirdBrain and headliner Secret Guest. On Friday, kick off the fun with an evening full of bass music from local artists, as well as vendors, pop-ups, live painters and games. Doors will open at 9:30 PM, with music beginning at 10:00 PM. This will be a 21 and up event, so leave the kiddos at home with a babysitter while you enjoy one of the weekend’s best events.

Downtown Parker Wine Walk

Where? Downtown Parker
When? September 26th

Downtown Parker Wine Walks are scheduled for the final Friday of the month throughout the summer, with this Friday marking the final Wine Walk of the season. Gather with friends, family or even colleagues as you enjoy the beautiful weather while walking around Downtown Parker. Enjoy wine and shop local merchants while you listen to live music. The fun begins at 4:30 PM, at which time participants can start at the chamber office to pick up a wristband, a commemorative glass and a map. From the chamber office, you can choose your own adventure and visit participating merchants. Not only will you enjoy great wine, you can also get a head start on holiday shopping! PRO Tip: Advance tickets are priced at $25 or you can grab tickets at the door for $30. 

Creeporado: An Evening of the Strange & Unusual

Where? 1200 North Broadway 
When? September 26th

Do you know who Colorado’s most famous freak is? It’s Mike the Headless Chicken, of course! He’s formally inviting you to Creeporado: An Evening of the Strange & Unusual. This is an after-hours event from History Colorado, complete with some of the weirdest artifacts in the museum’s collection. Peruse the night market or make a spooky craft in the Makers Space while you jam out to live music or sip on a craft cocktail. While you’re enjoying your evening, lend a hand to Mike as he seems to have lost his head. Event hours run from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM and tickets are priced at $25 for adults and $15 for kids ages 12 and under here

PRO Tip: This year’s event will feature more collections than last year, as well as family-friendly activities and 18+ only collection spaces.

Fall Plant & Bulb Sale

Where? 1007 York Street
When? September 26th & 27th

This Friday and Saturday, don’t miss the Fall Plant & Bulb Sale at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Head to the York Street location from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM both days as you shop for spring blooms. The sale will feature hundreds of varieties of flowering bulbs, as well as an array of garlic grown at Chatfield Farms and plants grown at the gardens. Custom seed mixes will also be offered, which are curated specially for Colorado’s climate. Admission is free but reservations to the sale are required. There will be a members-only shopping hour each morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

PRO Tip: No space for outdoor plants? No problem! There will also be plenty of houseplants and succulents available for purchase.

Taylor Tomlinson @ Paramount Theatre

Where? 1621 Glenarm Place 
When? September 26th-28th

Taylor Tomlinson is bringing “The Save Me” Tour to Denver’s Paramount Theatre this weekend. Snag your tickets now to one of four shows as you enjoy the critically acclaimed stand-up comedian as she comes off of headlining the seventh highest-grossing comedy tour of 2023. Tomlinson has three hour-long specials on Netflix and is notably the only female late-night host on network television. Rolling Stone has commended Tomlinson for “conquering comedy” and Tomlinson was named as one of the “100 Most Powerful Women in Hollywood” by The Hollywood Reporter. 

PRO Tip: Friday’s show kicks off the fun at 7:00 PM, followed by shows at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Saturday and 7:00 PM on Sunday. 

Colorado Tattoo Convention & Expo 2025

The Colorado Tattoo Convention & Expo is returning to town this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Convention highlights include live tattooing from world-renowned artists, tattoo competitions, and even a custom car and motorcycle show. The 10th annual expo will be held in the historic National Western Complex. Celebrate a decade of tattoo artistry and dive into the culture and community surrounding tattoos in the Mile High City. Whether you’re an ink enthusiast or a newcomer, this event is open to everyone and you won’t want to miss out!

15th Annual Denver Century Ride

Grab your wheels and cycle around the Mile High City at the 15th annual CommonSpirit Denver Century Ride. This is Colorado’s only urban-based ride for all cycling abilities and it’s not too late to participate! Registration is open here for the 25 mile ride for ages 14 & under and for the 25 mile, 50 mile, 85 mile and 100 mile rides for adults. Let the good times roll this weekend and support an environmentally-friendly way of life. There’s so much joy to be had in biking across Denver with new friends while you explore diverse neighborhoods, parks, bike lanes and trails. The Denver Century Ride is all about connecting cyclists with attainable urban routes for casual cruising or even commuting to school and work. After all, Denver is one of the country’s most bikeable cities! Once you hit the finish line, you can enjoy a cold beer from Breckenridge Brewery, live music and a vibrant lifestyle expo at the Post-Ride Street Party & Expo.

PRO Tip: All roads will be open to normal traffic during the Denver Century Ride and participants will have a RideWithGPS map to download as a reference. There will be over 500 signs (both directional and informational) throughout the course.

Colorado Rapids vs Minnesota United FC

Where? 6000 Victory Way
When? September 27th

The Colorado Rapids are a professional soccer club based out of the Denver metro area. The team competes in MLS as a member of the Western Conference. This Saturday at 8:30 PM, the home team will be taking on Minnesota United at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in nearby Commerce City. There are only a few games left in the 2025 regular season, so don’t miss out! The team will play a final home game on October 18th against Los Angeles FC at 8:00 PM.

Colorado Avalanche vs Dallas Stars

The Colorado Avalanche are continuing their exhibition game schedule this weekend, with a match scheduled against the Dallas Stars at Ball Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 PM. The team won their match on September 21st against the Utah Mammoth, so cheer extra loud so the team can continue their hot streak before regular season play begins. Get ready for the 2025-2026 season with ticket packages and memberships, which can be found here. The Hat Trick Plan allows fans to customize their top line with 3 games of their choice!

PRO Tip: There will be one more preseason game at Ball Arena, so mark your calendar! The Avalanche will face off against the Vegas Golden Knights on September 30th at 6:00 PM.

Oktoberfest @ ViewHouse

ViewHouse Ballpark is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration this weekend, complete with German food and drink specials. Enjoy yodeling competitions, keg rolling, and a “Best Beard” competition at this ultimate bier bash. The event is free to attend and there will be live music and plenty of keg games for all. Custom cocktails will be crafted by area liquor reps, with one ultimately winning a spot on the fall menu. Think you have what it takes to win the stein hoisting competition? Grab a liter of beer with one arm and no shaking allowed! Sign up when you arrive to see if you’ll be crowned as the ViewHouse Stein Champion of 2025!

PRO Tip: Explore the featured Oktoberfest menu for German-inspired bites. After all, nothing pairs better with a cold beer than a brat!

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

With school back in session, it’s all about making the most of the weekend with the family. Check out these Denver-area events, such as the 20th anniversary celebration at the downtown aquarium or Aurora Mini-Con.

Downtown Aquarium’s 20th Anniversary

Where? 700 Water Street

Celebrate two decades with Denver’s Downtown Aquarium! Enjoy a day of family-friendly fun this weekend, complete with $20 exhibit tickets, exciting raffles and celebrations that include a kid’s craft table, discounted aquarium express train rides, all-day happy hour and animal and mermaid appearances. If that’s not enough, families can also look forward to scavenger hunts and prizes, visits from Sharkey (the aquarium mascot), and keeper chats in the exhibits. There will also be exclusive 20th anniversary retail items on sale through September, so be sure to check them out and take home something to remember this momentous occasion!

Aurora Mini-Con

This Saturday, head over to the Aurora Municipal Center from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the Aurora Mini-Con. This event features a family-friendly pop culture celebration, with activities such as science experiments with the Ghostbusters, video games, laser tag, and a variety of tasty treats from local food trucks. There will also be cosplay costume contests and special performances from Aurora Dance Arts, Stace Johnson, Miki Saito and more. Costume registration begins at 3:30 PM, with the contest starting at 4:00 PM. Categories will range from ages 0 to 12, ages 13+ and Best Group. Activities will take place at the Aurora Central Library, the Aurora History Museum and on the Great Lawn. 

PRO Tip: The Mini-Con is entirely free to attend and patrons are encouraged to utilize public transport, as parking will be limited. 

Sundays on Santa Fe

Where? 525 Santa Fe Drive
When? September 28th

Take the family to the heart of Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe for a Sunday funday. Enjoy a free gallery crawl on the last Sunday of the month, where you can hop to different galleries, boutique shops and explore the district with the entire family. Sundays on Santa Fe are scheduled from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, though you’re welcome to stick around for longer to continue exploring the area! Participating galleries, businesses and shops include 910 Arts, Carol Meir Fashion, Kasha Kari Gallery, Pop Gallery Denver, Sync Gallery, and many more.
