Pumpkin Pie 5K

The annual Pumpkin Pie 5K/10K will be hosted in Denver’s City Park this Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Registration is priced at $36 and increases to $40 on race day for the 5K. All races are $5 less for children ages 17 and under. Your fee will include a race logo shirt, a finishers medal, fully stocked aid stations, professional chip timing, and of course — pumpkin pie at the finish line! Avoid the rush and complete your pre-race packet pickup and registration on Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Runners Roost on Colorado Boulevard. The route will utilize the standard City Park 5K course, just run in the reverse direction.
PRO Tip: There are several lots surrounding City Park, with the largest options being at the East High School track and at the National Jewish Center. If you plan to park in the zoo lot, please consider purchasing tickets to the Denver Zoo for after the race!

This Friday, the Green Valley Ranch Library will be hosting Mad Science of Colorado as the afternoon presenter in the community room. From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, kids will have the chance to participate in the “Under Pressure” workshop where they’ll learn all about the science behind air pressure and a host of associated scientific concepts, broken down into easy-to-understand and age-appropriate bites. The workshop will cover aerodynamics, the science of flight, thermodynamics, and Bernoulli’s principle.

Fun at the Firehouse

For people with sensory processing disorders, the Denver Aquarium is setting aside a time on Sunday morning from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM where visitors can experience the exhibits more comfortably. The ambient sounds will be turned down and the museum will be open earlier than normal, allowing families to enjoy the calm, quiet setting. Tickets are on sale for $26.50 for adults and $19.99 for children ages 3 to 11. Kiddos ages 2 and under get in free. Reserve your spot today!
