Fan Expo Denver

Where? 700 14th Street
When? May 28th-31st

The Fan Expo is coming back to the Colorado Convention Center this weekend. This is the ultimate go-to event for sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming. Typically attracting hundreds of thousands of people, this is a great way to meet new likeminded friends who share the same hobbies and interests! Every year, the Expo offers family-friendly attractions, events and even meet and greets with world-renowned celebs. In the past, guests have included John Cena, Elijah Wood, Jared Padalecki, and many more stars from your favorite hit TV shows and films. Whether you’re eager to get an autograph or you want to catch the inside scoop on your favorite media at a celebrity panel, there’s something for all ages and interests at Fan Expo Denver! Explore the massive show floor and shop for yourself or for friends and family. 

PRO Tip: Show hours will range daily, kicking off from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, followed by 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and wrapping up from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.

Outside Days

Where? 1201 5th Street

Get ready for four jam-packed days of workshops, networking, music, films, thought-provoking speakers and so much more at Outside Days at Auraria Campus Tivoli Quad. This is an all ages event that encourages everybody to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather in Denver. Music programming will kick off on the 29th and will feature performances by The Flaming Lips, Cage the Elephant, Japanese Breakfast, Death Cab for Cutie and many more talented bands and performers throughout the weekend. In addition, there will also be interactive adventure activations, outdoor culture exhibitions and more happening throughout the weekend.

Goldengrass Bluegrass Weekend 2026

Where? 16401 Table Mountain Parkway 
When? May 28th-31st

Goldengrass Bluegrass Weekend is hosted by New Terrain Brewing Company in nearby Golden. Dating back to 2017, this exciting festival has been bringing live bluegrass music and craft beer together in the outdoor beer garden. This year marks the 10th celebration, which means it’ll be bigger and better than ever! With multiple food trucks daily, an ice cream truck and face painting on Saturday and Sunday, there will be plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Of course, the incredible assortment of free live acts is best enjoyed with a cold beer. The lineup for the weekend includes Magoo, Arkansauce, Front Porch, 65 North Pickers, Tonewood String Band and many more. 

PRO Tip: The fun will be held from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, so swing by after work and stay late!

City Park Day

Where? 2001 Colorado Boulevard 
When? May 29th

The Annual City Park Day is just around the corner! This Friday, kick off the weekend with the Victorian Society of Colorado and celebrate this longstanding tradition with free ice cream from MyKings and music from the Denver Municipal Band. There will additionally be tables from local community partners and more. Victorian costumes are encouraged and attendees are also welcome to bring a picnic. Chat with local businesses and organizations while you enjoy a delightful afternoon in the park. Guests can enter via Montview and Colorado. 

PRO Tip: There will be a handicap accessible parking lot north of the pavilion, as well as RTD bus service routes on 40 and 20. 

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants

Where? 2001 Blake Street 
When? May 29th-31st

The Rockies are hosting the San Francisco Giants this weekend as the teams play three games at Coors Field this weekend. Kicking the action off on Friday at 6:40 PM, fans can catch the home team in their Nike MLB City Connect uniforms. Saturday’s game is scheduled for 7:10 PM and on Sunday, the Rockies invite fans to enjoy Kids Day presented by UCHealth. All kiddos can run the bases postgame and the ballpark will be a fun-filled hub centered around kids all day, including $2 popcorn for all fans, a kid’s merchandise stand by section 105, in-game features on the scoreboard and more. This is a great day to bring the family out to a ball game!

Colorado Native Bees Workshop

Were you aware that Colorado is home to more than 1,000 species of native bees? If you’ve ever wondered about these pollinators and how many different kinds there are, then this is the class for you! Colorado Native Bees 101 will offer an engaging, approachable introduction to the incredible diversity of bees living right here in the Centennial State. By the end of the program, participants will be able to understand the diversity and ecology of native bees in Colorado, learn how native bees differ from honey bees, recognize major bee groups, life-history strategies and more. 

PRO Tip: Secure your spot this Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, which will include a classroom session, outdoor field collection, identification workshop and a wrap-up and discussion to cap off the course.

Whiskey Throwdown & Doughnut Showdown

The sweetest event of the year is back this Saturday, so get ready for the Whiskey Throwdown & Doughnut Showdown. This is where craft spirits meet creative confections in what’s sure to be an epic celebration of flavor, fun and community. Denargo Market will be transforming into a paradise for whiskey lovers and doughnut enthusiasts alike. Expect unlimited tastings, wild pairings, live entertainment and an atmosphere that’s buzzing with sugar-fueled excitement! From bold whiskey flavors, a variety of beer, indulgent doughnuts and other sweet treats, you’ll satisfy that sweet tooth and find a buzz all in one place.

Centennial Fine Art Festival

The Centennial Fine Art Festival debuts this Saturday and Sunday at the Streets at SouthGlenn. This is a beautiful open-air destination for this weekend’s juried fine art show, along with live music, and hands-on fun for the whole family. Take a stroll on the promenade, meet the artists and discover a one-of-a-kind piece that’s calling your name. Expect paintings, sculpture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, photography, wood, fiber and more at this weekend’s event. Go ahead and make a day of it with art, dining, and shopping all in one place with wide walkways, great sightlines and a chill “shop-and-stroll” vibe that never rushes you. The Centennial Fine Art Festival is free and open to the public.

This weekend, explore the Urban Market at Union Station. Nestled in the heart of Denver’s downtown, you’ll find an eclectic mix of local arts and crafts sold directly by the artists themselves. Of course, the market also features live music and entertainment to craft an engaging experience for all visitors. The Urban Market at Union Station will be held from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Whether you consider yourself a seasoned shopper or you’re simply curious to discover something new, the market provides an immersive experience for all those looking to embrace it! The market is free to visit and open to all.

Market in the Park-et

If you haven’t heard of Market in the Park-et, it’s one of the hottest new events for vintage and up-cycled fashion, handmade jewelry, home decor, original art and more. Every month from April through October, you can soak up the stunning park atmosphere in City Park and Washington Park while you listen to great tunes and dive into delicious food and drink options. Admission is completely free, so bring the family or bring a friend or two and embrace the vibes all day long. Shop small this Sunday at Washington Park with 150+ small businesses while you experience a treasure trove of unique finds and engage with the makers themselves.

Family Fun Free Days @ Four Mile Historic Park

This Friday and Saturday, Four Mile Historic Park is hosting Family Fun Free Days. This event is designed to be a celebration of community and Native American heritage. Swing by to check out the Indigenous vendors, education centers and activities. The best news? Four Mile will be provided all-day free admission. Activities will include dance performances and presentations by the Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers and more. This will be a fun experience for the entire family, young and old!

Paint a Plane: A Mural Workshop

Where? 13005 Wings Way
When? May 30th

This Saturday at Wings Over the Rockies, families are invited to Paint a Plane at Exploration of Flight (Centennial Airport). Help bring new life to the retired Cessna 150! This activity will teach guests the value and history of aircraft art, while also demonstrating how to create a mural step by step. The whole family is encouraged to get hands-on and creative as they map, edge tape and paint their creation and participate in a picnic on the tarmac while watching planes take off and land. The finished Cessna will be displayed in the hangar for a limited time.

Sensory Friendly Show with Friendly Reminders

Where? 71 East Yale Avenue
When? May 30th

Mark your calendar for this Saturday and head over to Swallow Hill Music to jam out with the Friendly Reminders. This is a sensory friendly show, with doors at 10:00 AM and the show starting an hour later. The performance will maintain lower volumes and lighting and there will be a calm room and fidget sensory items available. Friendly Reminders is an indie-folkgrass string band made up of singer-songwriter Ian Foster on mandolin/guitar and Meg Rice on stand-up bass and harmonies. The duo is joined by a rotating cast of talented local instrumentalists. Gather round for a musical back and forth between these talented entertainers where attendees and their families can move around, dance, and sing along in a fun, judgement-free environment. 

PRO Tip: Children ages 3 and under are free.
