Dale Jones is coming to Comedy Works South for a weekend of shows! Jones will take the stage on Thursday at 7:30 PM, followed by two shows each on Friday and Saturday at 7:15 PM and 9:45 PM. Tickets range in price from $25 to $30, with VIP options and priority seating in rows seven and eight available. Dale Jones is known for his machine gun-style delivery and quick improvisations that keep the audience engaged. Jones has welcomed new fans with viral videos on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook and has appeared on TBS, The Very Funny Show, Last Comic Standing, Stand Up Live Nashville, and many more programs.

First Friday: Cinco de Mayo Celebration

This Friday, join the Museo de las Americas to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! From 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, join in on an exciting evening of festivities with dancing and delicious food. There will even be a captivating presentation of a Traditional Folklórico dance by Ballet Folklorico Sangre de Mexico from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees can indulge in tasty bites from local food trucks, along with refreshing beverage options. This celebration is open to members of the public, so invite some friends and enjoy the fun!

First Friday Jazz Hop

Five Points is excited to welcome jazz lovers of all backgrounds to the First Friday Jazz Hop. Honor the roots of the genre while you enjoy the fruit with live music galore on the first Friday of the month. Enjoy listening to local musicians and artists as they perform at venues along Welton Street in the city’s historic jazz district. First Friday Jazz Hop is free and open to everyone! This Friday’s performance schedule includes music at Sonny Lawson Park, Marigold, Spangalang Brewery, the 715 Club, and more. The fun kicks off at 5:00 PM, with the last show wrapping at midnight.

Holst The Planets

This weekend, the Colorado Symphony is presenting Holst The Planets in the Boettcher Concert Hall. The performance will be featured on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and 1:00 PM on Sunday. Enjoy Holst’s cosmic masterpiece, The Planets, which offers an enchanting portrayal of Earth’s celestial neighbors. Listeners will experience a musical journey through our solar system, all led by guest conductor Eric Jacobsen.

2025 Denver Mini Derby

Monster Energy Supercross is coming to Empower Field at Mile High this weekend for a high octane experience for fans of all ages. The event schedule kicks off at 10:00 AM with practice before qualifying rounds begin an hour later. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 4:30 PM and the main event begins at 5:00 PM! All fans ages 2 and older are required to have a ticket.

Denver Derby Party

Head on over to McGregor Square for the Denver Derby Party from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This OG Derby Day Bash is a can’t-miss for those wanting to experience the definitive Churchill Downs celebration in the Mile High City. Tickets get you all-inclusive everything, including unlimited food and drinks. Come see why this has become a Colorado tradition on the first Saturday in May year after year! Sloth Runners Race

This weekend’s Sloth Runners Race offers participants a stress-free setting for all ages. Timing is optional, with some racers opting to track their time on an app and submit it through a form or requesting the coordinators to help track time. There will be multiple waves scheduled throughout the morning, beginning at 7:30 AM with Wave A. Late runners can run upon arrival. After your run, make sure to grab a special sloth charm from one of the coordinators to commemorate your experience.

PRO Tip: Last-minute registrations are accepted, though your shirt will likely arrive after the run!

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit @ Red Rocks

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are performing at Red Rocks Amphitheater this Saturday! This is an all-ages event and a great way to soak in the striking Colorado views in all directions. Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway will be opening for the band and the show starts at 7:00 PM, with doors at 6:00 PM. North Alabama native, Isbell, has established himself as one of the generation’s most respected and celebrated songwriters. His band, the 400 Unit, is primarily made up of musicians from the Muscle Shoals, Alabama, area.

Jump into the spring season at Spring Fest at Kids Choice Dental & Orthodontics. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, kiddos are invited to enjoy inflatable games, interactive activities, face painting and even a tour of the facility! The first 100 kiddos in attendance get a special goodie bag as well. Attendees don’t need to be patients nor do they need to book an appointment to partake in the festivities. Additional activities and offerings include character artists and light refreshments.

Cinco de Mayo Festival

Best Buddies Friendship Walk

Where? South Downing Street & East Louisiana Avenue

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is a beloved opportunity to help change the world for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This Sunday at 9:00 AM, join together with local community members in Denver’s Washington Park. Opening ceremonies kick off at 9:45 AM. The walk begins at 10:15 AM and the celebration is scheduled to carry on through 12:30 PM. Funds raised through the Friendship Walk go towards benefiting Best Buddies, which is dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200+ million people worldwide living with IDD.

PRO Tip: With over 50,000 participants at 80 walks across the globe, Denver participants are joining a global network of dedicated supporters and allies of Best Buddies programs in schools, workplaces, and communities.
