The smash hit musical Mamma Mia!, based on the songs of ABBA, is coming to Denver’s Buell Theatre this weekend. In fact, this will be the last chance for Denver audiences to catch it before the cast goes to Broadway! Following the story of a mother, her daughter, and three possible dads — take a trip down the aisle that you’ll never forget. For over 25 years, the musical has received international acclaim and has become a beloved staple for many looking for the ultimate feel-good show. The estimated runtime is set at 2 hours and 35 minutes with an intermission. Showtimes are scheduled for both 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM through Sunday.

Downtown Parker Wine Walk

The Downtown Parker Wine Walk is being presented by Lifetime Remodeling. This Friday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, explore Downtown Parker after you check in at the chamber office located at 19751 East Mainstreet, #R-16. Admission is priced at $25 plus tax in advance or $30 plus tax at the door. Tickets are on sale now, so grab yours ASAP! Gather up your friends, family, neighbors, and anybody else you want to celebrate summer with and enjoy wine at local business locations. Pick up your collectible glass, a map, and a wristband at the chamber office before you set off to taste, socialize, and enjoy a beautiful evening in Parker, Colorado!
PRO Tip: This is a rain or shine event. Though the festivities officially start at 4:30 PM, attendees can also arrive later if they’d like. All participants must be 21 or older with a valid ID.
Denver PRIDE @ Larimer Square

Celebrate Pride all weekend long at Larimer Square! Kicking things off on Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, join the community for a high-energy block party complete with live music. Music will be performed by DOGTAGS, Alysia Kraft, and May Be Fern. On Saturday, continue the good vibes and keep the party going with DJ sets and pop-up sidewalk bars for tasty beverages in the street from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Cap off your exciting weekend on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Sunday Drag Brunch at Osteria Marco. This event requires reservations and will function as the grand finale to the Pride weekend festivities, effectively taking over the block with an al fresco dining experience.
PRO Tip: Pride at Larimer Square will take place between 14th and 15th on Larimer Street. Be there or be square!
21st Annual Mile High Pastel Exhibition
Where? 2349 East Orchard Road

Curtis Center for the Arts is currently hosting the Pastel Society of Colorado: Mile High International Exhibition through Saturday. The show is free to attend and is open to the public for viewing during regular gallery hours. The Exhibition was juried by Karen Margulis, who is an accomplished artist and art educator known for her expressive pastel landscape paintings. The exhibit features a diverse array of figurative, abstract, portrait, and landscape scenes.

Pride 5K
Where? 200 East Colfax Avenue

Denver Pride 5K is part of this weekend’s festivities celebrating Pride Month! Presented by Smartwool, the 5K will be held at 9:30 AM. The race is a way for supporters of The Center on Colfax to make a difference in the lives of the LGBTQ+ community residing in Colorado. The event is not only a fun way for the community to come together but also serves as a crucial fundraiser that enables the Center to offer essential services, programs, and activities year-round. Race packets can be picked up from The Center on Colfax on Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
PRO Tip: Registration and festivities for the 5K will begin at 8:00 AM on Lincoln between Colfax and 14th. The race route will go on the 14th to Cheesman Park and back.
Denver Dog Fair
Where? 4655 Humboldt Street

The Denver Dog Fair will be held at the National Western Complex this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Head over to the Expo Hall, the Hall of Education, and the Stadium Arena to visit adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes! Tickets are on sale now for the fair, priced at $20. Kids ages 5 and younger get in free and families can snag a discounted 4-pack of tickets for $72. Bring Fido along as well with the purchase of a $5 dog ticket! This year, there are more activities for the pups to participate in. Organizers expect 150+ adoptable puppies and dogs, brought in by dozens of Colorado shelters, breed rescues, and adoption and foster agencies. All pups have been screened and are current with their shots.
PRO Tip: Parking is free! Ticket prices include all entertainment and activities, with the exception of food and adoption fees.
Jigsaw Puzzle Swap: 250+ Pieces

Denver’s Eugene Field Branch Library is hosting a Jigsaw Puzzle Swap this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring a puzzle and take a puzzle. If you’re in search of a new jigsaw puzzle to work on, this is your chance! Bring the 250+ piece puzzle that you’ve already enjoyed and swap it out for a new-to-you puzzle. In order for this event to be a success, only share puzzles that have all of their pieces. After all, nothing is worse than getting to that last piece to find that it’s lost!
PRO Tip: There is no fee to attend this puzzle swap, nor are there prices associated with the puzzles.
Hālau Kalama’s 17th Annual Lei Day

You’re invited to the 17th Annual Lei Day! This Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, the public is invited to enjoy Kalama Polynesian dancers, Kōloa Rum, Kona Big Wave beer, and more! Visitors of all ages will be wowed by the spectacular fire performance, as well as live Tahitian drumming. Dig into traditional Hawaiian BBQ and sip on tropical drinks that will transport you all the way to the beach from landlocked Colorado. You can even shop from island-themed vendors! General admission tickets are priced at $49.87 and they’re going fast, so snag yours now. GA attendees will have first-come, first-served seating without tables and dinner is not included. There will be an option to purchase food from vendors.

2025 Denver PrideFest

Denver PrideFest has flourished as the largest Pride in the Rocky Mountain region, with over half a million visitors annually! These days, Denver Pride consists of three main events: the festival, the 5K, and the parade. Not only is there fun to be had by the whole family, but the weekend also serves as the largest annual fundraiser for The Center on Colfax. PrideFest is scheduled on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This two-day festival unites communities from across the state, featuring 250+ exhibitors, 30 food vendors, and enthralling live performances. Last year, Denver Pride partnered with The Rainbow Market Denver to create the all-new Gayborhood Market. This space is dedicated to supporting local LGBTQ+ small businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, and more — so be sure to check it out!
PRO Tip: Denver PrideFest asks attendees to abide by a few rules, including no outside alcohol allowed, pets should be left at home for their safety, and no bicycles or unicycles in the park.
City Park Jazz: Buckner Funken Jazz

City Park Jazz is a 2025 summer event that you don’t want to miss! This weekend, the lineup features Buckner Funken Jazz. The band has performed from Five Points to Keystone, Lake City, and many bars and venues over the years. The group will perform from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Led by respected jazz musician Rod Buckner, “BFJ” has earned a reputation as being a 7 piece funk powerhouse. City Park Jazz is a locals-only festival, meaning only bands and musicians based in Colorado are booked. Come on out and celebrate local music and you may even leave as a super fan!

Outdoor Movie Night: The Fast and The Furious

Join the community for the Outdoor Movie Night at Infinity Park. Gates open at 7:30 PM, with the movie beginning an hour later at 8:30 PM. This weekend, The Fast and The Furious will be screened for the ultimate outdoor movie experience. This street-racing classic will take you on an adrenaline-filled ride. Attendees are welcome to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs so they can sit comfortably on the field. Free parking is available in the P1 lot and no animals are allowed in the stadium or on the field, except service animals. Local food trucks will be on-site or guests can opt to bring their own snacks and drinks (no glass containers). You can even swing by the Try Club, which features a full bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails.
PRO Tip: The movie is rated PG-13, so parents should exercise caution for younger kiddos.
Kids Wonder Princess Palooza

Kids Wonder invites all of the little princesses and princes across the metro region to venture into a magical afternoon at the Princess Palooza. Dress up in your sparkliest gown or your most regal attire and join your favorite princesses for an afternoon of royal fun, laughter, and memories that will enchant you for a lifetime. Strike a pose with the princesses and remember, don’t forget your socks! The kingdom of Kids Wonder is sock-only for everybody’s safety.

Kids Create at Denver’s Central Library is a program for early learners ages 0 to 5! This is a prime opportunity to explore open-ended arts, crafts, and building materials with the entire family. Team up with your kiddo to get creative and tackle unique challenges in this welcoming space to express your inner artist. Sunday’s activities will run from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM but make sure to stick around afterwards to check out a few new reads to take home with you.
