What to Do in Denver This Weekend: April 17th-19th

Activities, Events, Shows, and More in Denver This Weekend 

Kick off a weekend of fun with the Colorado Rockies or an art gallery walk in Denver’s Santa Fe Art District. The USWNT is coming to town to face off against Japan and Lionel Messi will be scheduled to appear at Empower Field against the Colorado Rapids! Not big on soccer? No problem. Enjoy all you can eat ramen, fundraiser cocktails or a book fair for adults this weekend.

Third Fridays on Santa Fe

Where? Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe

Third Fridays on Santa Fe are akin to the First Friday Art Walk, where dozens of galleries keep their doors open later for this community gathering. Oftentimes, there are even opportunities to meet the artists themselves! Come on out for opening receptions, artist talks and lots of art to admire! There’s something for every art enthusiast, from collectors to casual aficionados. Third Fridays run from approximately 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Participating galleries and businesses include 910 Arts, Access Gallery, Artists on Santa Fe, D’Art Gallery, Denver Art Society and many, many more. 

PRO Tip: There is plenty of on-street parking in the district, as well as dedicated paid lots. Be sure to check for any posted parking limits for street parking! 

Friday Comedy Showcase

Where? 3559 Larimer Street
When? April 17th

Friday’s Comedy Showcase at Denver Comedy Lounge is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Doors will open a half hour early and guests may enjoy sake flights from Colorado Sake Co and izakaya-style food before the lights go down. The Comedy Lounge brings nationally touring headliners and the best local talent to an intimate stage in the RiNo Arts District. Friday’s shows kick off with a single curated lineup, while Saturday’s shows feature multiple showtimes from early evening through late night.

U.S. Women’s National Team vs. Japan

Where? 6000 Victory Way
When? April 17th

This Friday, the Colorado Rapids are set to host the U.S. Women’s National Team as they face off in a match against Japan at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in nearby Commerce City. The game is scheduled for 7:00 PM and tickets are still available, starting in the mid $70s. Whether you’re an avid soccer fan or you’re a casual observer, this is a great opportunity to cheer on the national women’s team! This will be the second consecutive year that the USWNT is returning to Commerce City, following a dominant 4-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland last summer. 

PRO Tip: Friday’s match will be the finale of a three-game series against Japan, who is the world’s eighth-ranked women’s soccer nation!

Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers

Where? 2001 Blake Street 
When? April 17th-20th

The Colorado Rapids are hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers this Friday through Monday. Kick things off with City Connect Fridays at 6:40 PM, where the Rockies will wear their Nike MLB City Connect uniforms at Coors Field every Friday home game. Saturday is Hello Kitty Night at 6:10 PM, followed by Dinger Day on Sunday at 1:10 PM. Monday wraps things up with a 6:40 PM game before the Rockies get ready to face off against the San Diego Padres during the week.

PRO Tip: Coors Field gates typically open two hours prior to the first pitch for Gates A and E and 90 minutes before the game for all other gates. This allows for early access for batting practice and The Rooftop!

Colorado Rapids 30th Anniversary Match ft. Lionel Messi

When? April 18th

Celebrate three decades during one historic night. The Colorado Rapids will be commemorating 30 years of Colorado soccer at their 30th Anniversary Match this Saturday, presented by UCHealth. This will be a landmark matchup against Inter Miami CF, giving fans a chance to see Lionel Messi in action. The Rapids are returning to where it all began three decades ago, with the match scheduled to be played at Empower Field at Mile High. Whether you’ve been a longtime fan or you’re a newcomer to the game, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the home team compete against the man who is widely regarded as the greatest soccer player of all time.

Denver Ramen Festival

The 2026 Denver Ramen Festival is the Mile High City’s biggest noodle celebration! This year, expect bigger, bolder and more delicious food than ever. Enjoy a flavor-packed day of ramen, boba, sake and nonstop fun at Denargo Market. The festival offers an all-access pass to unlimited slurps, sips and good vibes. Explore the offering from the top chefs and restaurants, including creations you won’t find anywhere else. Tickets include all food, all drinks and a lineup of live entertainment throughout the day that includes DJs, cultural performances and the crowd-favorite JDM Car Show.

Denver BAZAAR — LoHi Spring ’26

Where? 2120 West 32nd Avenue 
When? April 18th

The LoHi Spring BAZAAR is Colorado’s original Shop + Sip Market. This Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, shop 70+ makers, as well as street food and the neighborhood’s favorite outdoor bar on 32nd and Tejon. Kick off your morning with YogaSix at Highland Tap & Burger and stick around for mimosas afterwards! The rest of the day includes live music, dogs everywhere and meeting the people who actually make things. General admission to the market and food truck area will be free. 

PRO Tip: YogaSix tickets start at $15 for the 10:00 AM class or you can upgrade to $30 for bottomless mimosas from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Skip the class altogether and enjoy bottomless mimosas for $20 (price will increase to $25 at the door)!

Book Fair for Adults!

Where? 16401 Table Mountain Parkway 
When? April 19th

This Sunday, don’t miss out on the first ever Book Fair for Adults from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at New Terrain Brewing in nearby Golden. You’ll find books to flip through, local authors to chat with and of course, beers to sample. Additional festivities and products at the event include permanent jewelry, tarot card readings, flash tattoos and journals made from beer labels! Outside, there will be a book store trailer from Wandering Book Co and a mobile library by JeffCo Public Library. 

PRO Tip: The event features free entry, so swing by and start shopping! No registration is required. Remember, Mother’s Day is right around the corner so grab something for mom if she loves to read.

Cocktails & Castoffs

Where? 5004 National Western Drive

Commemorate Development in Gardening’s (DIG) first 20 years of farmer-led impact at this food-focused fundraiser in partnership with the National Western Center. This Sunday, guests will enjoy signature drinks and curated bites inspired by DIG’s farmers’ gardens in Kenya, Uganda and Senegal. The evening will additionally feature dynamic conversations around the intersection of food, culture and sustainability. The event will welcome Paula Thomas, a Denver-based food anthropologist and sustainability educator whose work explores the relationships between food, culture and the land. Together, the fundraiser invites attendees to celebrate founding supporters, community partners and the farmers whose trust and leadership have transformed seeds into everlasting change.

Hell’s Kitchen

Where? 1400 Curtis Street
When? Through April 26th

Grab your tickets to Hell’s Kitchen, Broadway’s hit musical from 17-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys. The performance will be hosted in the Buell Theatre in Denver’s Center for the Performing Arts. The show follows Ali, a 17 year-old-girl full of fire, as she searches for freedom, passion and her place in the world. This is a coming-of-age story like no other. The show’s runtime is approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes, including one 20-minute intermission. You can purchase tickets here

PRO Tip: The performance is recommended for ages 8 and up. There is some strong language and moments with mature themes. 

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

Party for Our Planet

The Children’s Museum is hosting a Party for Our Planet this weekend! This is an Earth Day celebration filled with activities all about the big, beautiful planet that we all reside on. Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to meet some seriously cool people and critters with Nature’s Educators (daily from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) and to check out the observation hive and see bees up close. Earth Day activities are included with museum admission. If you’re a member, you can enjoy it for free! On Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, say hello to cute friends from The Urban Farm.

PRO Tip: Bring aluminum cans in with you for the Cans for Trees program to receive a 20% discount on a purchase in the gift shop.

Earth Day at Four Mile

Where? 715 South Forest Street
When? April 18th

Four Mile Historic Park is excited to celebrate Earth Day this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Join the park and Hear Us Now, See Us Now as you learn from eco-friendly enthusiasts and participate in Earth Day service projects. The projects will be led by a local Girl Scout troop and attendees will also have the chance to experience an earth inspired Indigenous dance performance. The Earth Day festivities will offer free admission on Saturday. Make sure to swing by and say hello as you explore all of the ways that we can help keep Mother Nature clean, healthy and happy!

PRO Tip: Make sure to grab your free seed bombs and nature inspired crafts! There will also be local Indigenous owned Earth-friendly vendors if you’re in the market for a Mother’s Day gift or just something special to commemorate the event. 

Tiny Tots: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Where? 2501 Dallas Street & 7711 East Academy Boulevard 
When? April 18th & 19th

There will be multiple seatings for Tiny Tots: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles this weekend — with two on both Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 AM and 10:45 AM. Saturday’s events will be held at the Stanley Marketplace Hangar and on Sunday, the fun will move to the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. Families are invited to hop aboard this musical adventure in an interactive 45-minute concert experience where young audiences will be surrounded by a 30-piece orchestra. There will also be a chance to meet the musicians and guest artists after the performance to ask questions, explore instruments and keep the good times rolling.

PRO Tip: Tickets are priced at $20 and infants under 12 months are free. Inside the Orchestra is committed to equity and access in the orchestra space. Guests who cannot afford the ticket prices can request discounted or free tickets here.
