This weekend will also feature all things ramen, trains, and jazz at various festivals across the city. If you want to keep things more low-key, explore Slow Art Day at the Denver Art Museum or enjoy some silent reading at Western Sky Bar & Taproom!
Denver Jazz Fest

As many local music fans know, Denver has plenty of hometown jazz talent. Denver Jazz Fest was conceived by Denver-based jazz industry pros David Froman and Don Lucoff, who have spent a collective 70+ years producing and marketing the genre both locally and on the international stage. This inaugural festival will be held from Thursday through Sunday in various venues throughout the Denver and Boulder metro region. A special emphasis will be placed on Downtown Denver and the historic Five Points cultural district. With 30 shows across 12 venues, there will be plenty of opportunity to catch new and beloved acts this weekend.
PRO Tip: Tickets can be purchased by event, allowing attendees to mix and match their experience. Three free shows will be performed at Late Night at the El Chapultepec Lounge on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
Just Between Friends

Shakey Graves

Shakey Graves is making his way to Denver’s Mission Ballroom this weekend, with special guests Ruby Waters and Tyler Ballgame. Graves, aka Alejandro Rose-Garcia, is an Austin-born artist known for undeniable musical talent that seamlessly combines blues, folk, country, and rock and roll. The “And The War Came 10th Anniversary” show is slated for 8:00 PM, with doors opening an hour earlier. General admission tickets are on sale for $46 plus fees.
PRO Tip: To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of his album, Graves has released a special edition of And The War Came with never before heard demos and b-sides from the recording process to bring fans behind the scenes.
Rockies Home Opener

Baseball fans rejoice! The Rockies are back at home this weekend for their home opener on Friday at 2:10 PM. Celebrate the home team by cheering extra loud as they take on the Athletics. Whether you have tickets to the game or you plan to show your support from one of the many pubs, sports bars, and Rockies-loving venues around the city — Friday is sure to be a blast for sports fans everywhere!

This event is designated for 21 and up attendees. Head over to the Bierhalle Brawl at 9:00 PM for an adrenaline-pumping showcase of live pro wrestlers in action, complete with intense rivalries and electrifying entertainment for audience members.
PRO Tip: Standing room general admission tickets are free. Organizers expect the show to hit capacity, so make sure to arrive early! Standing room is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
2025 Denver Ramen Festival

Are you a ramen fanatic? If you answered yes to that question, then the 2025 Denver Ramen Festival is calling your name this Saturday! Slurp your way through the best ramen dishes in the Mile High City and enjoy tastings of Japanese cuisine and adult beverages at the open bar. This is a 21 and up event and the festival will open at 12:00 PM and run through 8:30 PM at the Stockyards Event Center. There will be an array of ramen styles available at the festival, including traditional to creative fusion dishes. The event features two sessions and three ticketing options to choose from — general admission, early entry, and VIP.

Slow Art Day

Slow Art Day is celebrated worldwide! Experience the magic of slowing down and taking the time to appreciate each piece at the Denver Art Museum this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Art can be especially transformative when you take the time to digest its meaning, so the museum invites visitors to spend 5-10 minutes looking closely at pieces on view while specially trained docents are on hand to facilitate discussions every half hour. This year’s featured artwork pieces will be Bullfight by Elaine de Kooning, Rain Has No Father by El Anatsui, and Garden Party by an unknown artist from the early 1700s.
PRO Tip: Slow Art Day is included in general admission to the museum and will be hosted in the Hamilton Building and the Martin Building.

Rocky Mountain Train Show

If you’re a big fan of trains, the Rocky Mountain Train Show is having their Spring 2025 showcase this Saturday and Sunday at the National Western Complex. This is the largest show west of the Mississippi, with an impressive three acres of model trains of all scales! The show hours run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4:00 PM on Sunday) and the public is welcome to attend. Exhibit areas will be organized in the Expo Hall and Hall of Education and there will be over 60 vendors and 16+ manufacturers. Adult admission is on sale for $15. PRO Tip: The Rocky Mountain Train Show offers free parking for attendees, as well as complimentary admission for children ages 12 and under. Scouts in uniform also receive free admittance.
Crime Junkie Podcast Live

The ultra-popular Crime Junkie Podcast is taking its Life Rule #10 Tour on the road. The live show is coming to Denver’s Bellco Theatre this Sunday at 7:00 PM. The show is advertised as an all-ages event, with parental discretion advised. Join award-winning podcasters Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat as they discuss solved and unsolved cases and infamous stories. Audiences can expect original reporting by the investigative team behind the show as they tackle cases that challenge assumptions and reveal unexpected outcomes.

April Pay-What-You-Wish Day

The Clyfford Still Museum is hosting its monthly Pay-What-You-Wish Day this Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Families are invited to explore the museum for as little as one penny on the monthly First Friday event. Mini tours will be available at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM and online reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome as well. Mini-tours are designed to showcase art in action, providing attendees with a lively experience where they can explore intriguing questions such as what a painting might sound or smell like. The tours are approximately a half hour long and are free, with no registration required. April will focus on the exhibition “Held Impermanence” by Katherine Simóne Reynolds.
PRO Tip: Adult ticket prices are listed as $1. Children ages 17 and under are always free. Guests who wish to pay more than $1 can do so via the donation amount at checkout. There will also be an option to pay less than $1 (as little as $0.01!) in person at the museum.
Disney On Ice: Into the Magic

Discover why no dream is ever too big with a trip to Disney on Ice, where all of your favorite Disney stories come to life with world-class ice skating that will impress audience members of all ages. From Miguel from Coco, Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled, and Moana and Maui’s adventures from Moana — there’s sure to be something that speaks to Disney fans of all generations. Disney on Ice will present 6 showtimes across the weekend, with the first one on Friday at 7:00 PM and the final one at 3:00 PM on Sunday. All performances will be held at the Denver Coliseum.

Spring to the Skies Showcase

Jump into the spring season with Wings Over the Rockies this weekend from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday. The Spring to the Skies Showcase will delight visitors with parachutes, balloons, paramotors and much more. The Exploration of Flight Museum is teaming up with iFLY Indoor Skydiving, West Paramotor, and Wild West Balloon Adventures to put on a showcase you won’t forget. Kids will love discovering the variety of alternative ways to soar through the air. The showcase won’t exhibit any live aerial demonstrations, due to the location at the airport. Tickets are on sale for $12.95 for adults and $6.95 for children.
PRO Tip: The Samos Grill food truck will be onsite for quick bites. Food is not included with admission and must be purchased separately.
