Things to Do, Eat, and See in Denver’s Lowry Neighborhood

The Lowry neighborhood is a popular location for young families and professionals to settle. The attractive area is close enough to big city amenities, while also providing a quiet solitude to enjoy day-to-day life. The neighborhood has plenty of options for food and drink, as well as a major shopping center that contains retailers, services, and local shops. Best of all, the neighborhood is brimming with green spaces and lush trees — providing plenty of space for residents (and pups!) to enjoy the gorgeous Colorado weather.

The Best Coffee Near Lowry

Lowry residents have their choice of chain coffee houses, as well as a handful of Denver staples that are serving up the freshest cups in town. Copper Door Coffee Roasters is a female-owned business and Logan House Coffee built their loyal base when they began as an at-home coffee delivery business.

Logan House Coffee

7111 East Lowry Boulevard #101

Logan House has four locations across the Denver region, with the Lowry location being the perfect spot to co-work and sip on your caffeinated beverage of choice throughout the morning and afternoon. The shop originated as a coffee home-delivery business that transformed into a brick-and-mortar shop that still has the same dedication to high-quality products and excellent customer service. Whether you choose a single-origin pour-over, a nitro cold brew, or an espresso-based drink — you can rest assured that the beans were sourced ethically and sustainably. Tea drinkers will enjoy the menu offering that includes chai and matcha lattes and even a nitro Arnold Palmer. Add one of Logan House Coffee’s house-made baked delights to your order, such as banana bread, coffee cake, or even a strawberry donut.

Copper Door Coffee Roasters

Cappuccinos, cortados, lattes, and mochas can be easily customized with Copper Door Coffee Roasters’s house-made syrups. If you’ve tried a few of their roasts and like what you taste, keep an eye out for the brand in select Safeway stores across Denver. The company also keeps an updated calendar of classes, such as espresso basics and coffee cupping, for those who want to try their hand at being a barista.

Lowry has plenty of eateries to choose from, whether you’re in the mood for a burger and a beer at the local beer garden or a fine dining omakase experience at Ronin. The neighborhood also has a popular breakfast and brunch spot.

The menu at the beer garden consists of classics such as beer brats and burgers, as well as pulled pork sandwiches, salmon BLTs, gyros, and even fish and chips. Those looking to keep their diet in check while they’re imbibing have the choice of seared tuna salad, the Lowry poke bowl, and a protein bowl featuring fresh produce, black beans, quinoa, and an added choice of protein. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the patio and must be kept leashed at all times. Children are permitted inside of the beer garden but must be attended to by their parents.

Ronin Lowry

Ronin Lowry provides an omakase dining experience, which translates to “I trust you.” Diners will leave themselves in the hands of the highly skilled sushi chefs while enjoying courses reminiscent of a tasting menu. The chef will place each piece in front of the diner as it’s made, thus building a connection between the diner and the chef as they savor each bite. Daily starters range from teriyaki strip steak, chef’s choice sashimi, and even a lightly sweetened egg custard. Ronin flies in fresh fish from Japan daily, ensuring that their menu features the best of the best. The wine, beer, and sake menu is extensive and has a flavor profile for everybody who wishes to complement their meal with a beverage. There is even a gluten-free menu with options such as Buddha rolls, snow crab maki, and jalapeño sashimi.

The Delectable Egg

2000 Quebec Street

Their sense of local pride has created lasting relationships with local suppliers, such as Aspen Baking Company, Elevation Coffee Traders, and Polidori Sausage. The breakfast menu features omelets, frittatas, and a range of benny’s that are served with house potatoes or hash. On the sweeter side, The Delectable Egg serves brioche French toast, Belgian waffles, and oatmeal almond pancakes with strawberries. There are also sweet and savory crepe options, such as the Florentine chicken, the quiche Lorraine, and a build-your-own option with dessert filling options like whipped cheesecake and Nutella.

The Nightlife Scene Around Lowry

Lowry has a solid nightlife offering, with a popular intimate music venue and a brewery serving up artisan ales on a rotating menu. Lowry residents can grab a few refreshments at Denver Beer Company before heading to a show at The Soiled Dove Underground.

The Soiled Dove Underground

7401 East 1st Avenue

The Soiled Dove Underground is one of Denver’s most intimate music venues, located beneath Tavern Lowry. The live venue has welcomed local bands, as well as national and international acts. Upcoming performances include a jazz show with Willie Bradley, an acoustic/rock concert by Jackopierce, and a blues performance with Coco Montoya. Seating is arranged in a crescent shape, giving everyone an optimal line of sight. No seat is further than 45 feet from the stage and the updated, state-of-the-art sound system is impressive. It’s no wonder the venue has won awards such as the “Best Live Music Venue” several times over.

Denver Beer Company Lowry

7070 East Lowry Boulevard

Denver is home to a multitude of breweries and spots to kick back and sample a few of the city’s craft beverages of choice. The current tap list includes a Peach Daddy Cobbler Ale, the Denver Gold, and a Juicy Freak IPA. The company also keeps a few hard seltzers and nonalcoholic options on the menu, such as the Easy Living Hop Water and a Rocky Mountain Soda Cola. Pups are always welcome on the patio and the company strives to be a welcoming and inclusive spot for all Denverites to hang out. Fresh ingredients are used to brew the artisan ales, meaning that the drinks change with the season. Small batches ensure high quality and also leave room for continued development. If you taste a beer you like, enjoy it while it’s available!

Lowry’s Outdoor Spaces

Like many Denver area neighborhoods, Lowry residents have access to various green spaces around town. Their largest park is the Great Lawn Park, which features a massive sundial. Dog owners will also have access to the local dog park — fit with an obstacle course and designated areas for pups based on size.

Great Lawn Park

101 Yosemite Street

The 52-acre Great Lawn Park is one of Lowry’s most popular green spaces and features beautiful views of the mountains. There is a pond and wetland habitat, as well as walking trails and a sizable grassy meadow that’s perfect for hosting events and playing sports. Despite being in an urban setting, residents can escape the bustle and even spot wildlife while relaxing in this park. Children will enjoy the large playground area, as well as the picnic areas to take a break with a snack between games of tag or hide and seek. The 90-foot sundial is the park’s claim to fame and is located at the end of 6th Avenue.

Lowry Dog Park

Yosemite Way & East 4th Place

The Lowry Dog Park is fully fenced in and includes separate areas for large and small dogs. This makes for a safe way for dogs to socialize without getting over-excited and forgetting their size. The park also features an agility area with dog-friendly obstacles that are sure to wear out even the most energetic dog. The terrain includes a mixture of gravel and sand, which keeps the park from getting muddy after rainfall. No water is provided at this dog park, so pet parents should make sure to bring their dogs plenty of hydration to keep them playing.
