Denver Halloween Weekend Events

From drive-thru spooky light shows, adult-only dance parties to ghoulish story times at the local library, everyone is sure to have an unforgettable weekend!

Spooky Light Show

Where? 8801 North Pecos Street
When? Through October 31st

The countdown to Halloween is officially underway! You still have a bit more time to swing by the Spooky Light Show at Water World before it’s gone for the season. This is a drive-thru light show experience, complete with mesmerizing lights synced to spooky music. Everyone is welcome, including pets! Tickets are valid for one vehicle entrance into the show, so fill your seats with friends and families, roll down the windows and enjoy. To enjoy the synchronized music, visitors will be directed to tune into a specific radio station on their FM radio.

PRO Tip: Expect the show to take approximately 20-30 minutes to drive through. Visitors should remain in their vehicles and not stop throughout the show. 

Halloween Potluck Party

Where? 1495 York Street, Suite 101
When? October 31st

Bruz Off Fax is hosting a Halloween Potluck Party this Friday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Costumes are highly encouraged at this party, as are spooktacular dishes to share with other partygoers. The taproom will be decked out in spooky decor, so snap some photos with friends. DJ Blake will be spinning records all night long. Dance the night away with ghouls and ghosts and refresh yourself with a range of brews on tap, such as the Belgian Country Lager, the Diablo Fuego, the Grape Saison and many more. 

PRO Tip: There are no tickets required to attend this event, so just show up with some food and get the party started! 

Halloween Paranormal Investigation 

Where? 715 South Forest Street
When? October 31st

The Women of XX Paranormal Communications are hosting an extra special Halloween night of paranormal fun at Denver’s Four Mile Historic Park. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Four Mile House, which was built in 1859, and learn about the people who once lived there. Expect to experience a unique evening of history and mystery with professional tools and expert guidance. 

PRO Tip: Costumes are encouraged! There will be a chance to win dowsing rods, so show off your spookiest attire and enjoy what’s sure to be a memorable night. 

Disco Mystique

Where? 1850 Wazee Street
When? October 31st

Dairy Block will be celebrating the Halloween spirit with Disco Mystique this Friday. This LoDo Halloween Party invites you to immerse yourself into darkness and submit to dance. There will be a costume contest, a live DJ, drag and much more. The event will kick off at 7:00 PM and wrap up at 1:00 AM, so get ready to party with ghostly friends until the early morning hours. DJ Buddy Bravo will be kicking off the fun, followed by a Sister Judy performance later in the night and a Late Night Disco from 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM to wrap things up. Grab your tickets now and get a special welcome cocktail when you arrive. Consider booking a night at The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block with waived parking on Halloween Night!

PRO Tip: This is a 21 and up event. There will be special Halloween cocktails from Poka Lola and grand prize giveaways for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the costume contest.

Adam Bodine — 2025 Halloween Spooktacular

Where? 1330 27th Street 
When? October 31st

Adam Bodine and his band are coming to Nocturne this Friday for the 2025 Halloween Spooktacular. The show is scheduled across two sets (6:30 PM to 7:45 PM and 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM) and is slated as being a hauntingly special evening of music on the spookiest night of the year. Adam is returning for his fifth year of Halloween at Nocturne for a fun and freaky show that’s sure to hold many tricks, as well as a few treats. Audience members can expect a haunting and humorous concoction of funky surprises and psychedelic soundscapes, including theme songs!

PRO Tip: Dinner and a Show reservations include a seasonal three course menu or you can book a Reserved Bar ticket that allows guests to order from the entire dinner menu, as well as from the wine & craft cocktail list. 

University of Denver Hockey vs. Alaska Anchorage

Where? 2410 East Asbury Avenue 
When? October 31st & November 1st

Catch Denver Hockey as the team takes on Alaska Anchorage this weekend on Friday and Saturday at Magness Arena. Friday’s game is scheduled for 7:00 PM and puck drop on Saturday will be at 6:00 PM. Doors open one hour prior to game time and parking will be available in certain lots, with more information here. The arena has a clear bag policy in place and Magness Arena is cashless, meaning all DU concessions and merchandise stands are credit card only. For ease of entry, guests are encouraged to download their tickets to their mobile wallet app before arriving on campus. 

PRO Tip: Limited tickets are available, so snag yours ASAP to cheer on your local collegiate hockey team! 

DarknessCon Denver

Where? 10 East 120th Avenue
When? October 31st & November 1st

DarknessCon is taking over Denver this Friday and Saturday at Delta Hotels in Thornton. Get ready for all things spooky, with 40+ dealers and artists expected to be in attendance, as well as several special guests and over 25 hours of programming. This year’s guests include Naomi Grossman, Kristin Killtastic, Mythica Blessyng, and more. The schedule will kick off on Friday with the Rocky Horror Drag Show from 9:00 PM to midnight, followed by the Rocky Horror Picture Show through 2:00 AM! Saturday’s festivities continue the fun with dealers and the Macabre Maker’s Market, as well as a film festival, Q&A sessions and more activities that will keep you entertained! Closing ceremonies on Friday are scheduled for 8:00 PM, followed by the 2nd Annual Vampire Ball from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM in the Main Events Room. The Ball will be for guests 18+ only, with a cash bar on-site.

The 48th Denver Film Festival

The Denver Film Festival is a premiere celebration of all things cinema, with an abundance of diverse and thought-provoking films from across the globe. In 2025, the festival will mark its 48th year! Over the decades, the festival has firmly established itself as a destination for film enthusiasts from all over, as well as industry professionals and cultural explorers. The festival serves as a platform for emerging filmmakers, as well as established directors. Organizers expect over 40,000 attendees throughout the event and aside from screenings, there will be filmmaker Q&A sessions, panel discussions, workshops, receptions and more special events.

City Park Classic

Where? 2001 Colorado Boulevard 
When? November 1st

The City Park Classic features three distances, all supporting one great cause! Choose from the 10K, 5K or 1 Mile Run/Walk and show your support and raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research. The Classic is powered by the CU Cancer Center and the Division of Surgical Oncology. November is Worldwide Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month, so there’s no better way to kick off the month than with a run or a walk at City Park in Denver. 100% of donations go directly towards cancer research right here in Colorado at the CU Division of Surgical Oncology. 

PRO Tip: All 5K and 10K finishers earn a medal! The 1 mile walk is untimed, so feel free to relax and chat it up with fellow participants as you finish the course.

Dementia-Friendly Tour @ History Colorado Center

History Colorado Center is hosting a Dementia-Friendly Tour this Saturday, with free admission at 9:30 AM (sold out) and 10:30 AM (still available). Space is limited, so reserve your spot now to enjoy this special program that connects adults with dementia and their companions through discussions and reflections on museum objects. These tours have been thoughtfully designed for those who enjoy lingering and exploring at a slower pace. The tour will focus on a few specially selected artifacts in one of the galleries, with participants having the opportunity to sit down and engage in a facilitated discussion while they learn new information and contribute their own individual observations along the way.  

PRO Tip: The tour is wheelchair accessible and registration is free.

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

Kiddos of all ages love Halloween, which is why there’s plenty to choose from when it comes to celebrating as a family. Get lost in the Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms (then look at your PDF map before you panic!) or enjoy a live symphony performance of The Nightmare Before Christmas at Boettcher Concert Hall. 

Spooky Flashlight Storytime

Where? 2825 High Street
When? October 31st

This Friday, head on over to the Ford-Warren Branch Library for Spooky Flashlight Storytime. From 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, join in on this special evening edition of Family Storytime as you brave family-friendly spooky stories with the little ones. Costumes and flashlights are encouraged! The story time will be held in the Ford-Warren Community Room #1 and no reservations are required, so just show up with your spookiest attire and jump into the ghoulish good times.

PRO Tip: This program has been specially designed for early learners ages 0 to 5 and kids ages 5 to 12. This Friday’s presenter will be Andy Dunne.

Disney in Concert: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas

Where? Boettcher Concert Hall, 1000 14th Street

Back by popular demand, one of Tim Burton’s most celebrated films will be featured like never before in the Boettcher Concert Hall. Audiences will enjoy the full feature film, The Nightmare Before Christmas, which will be projected onto the big screen with dialogue, singing and effects accompanied by the darkly charming score by Danny Elfman. The score will be played live by the talented Colorado Symphony! Families of all ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged — after all, what’s Halloween without a bit of whimsy? 

PRO Tip: Stay for the credits and you’ll be glad that you did! The show begins at 7:30 PM and tickets range from $64 to $170.

Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms

Where? 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road
When? Through November 2nd

Are you ready to get lost in the 7-acre Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms? If you answered “yes,” then you have one final weekend to enjoy the festive fall fun! Families of all ages will enjoy flying through twists and turns in this year’s “birds-of-prey” themed maze, which features eagles, falcons and vultures. Be prepared to soar to new heights to view the maze from a spectacular 15-foot-tall bridge. To reduce waste, printed maps will not be available for the maze. Guests can view a PDF map on their mobile device to avoid getting lost. The last entry for the corn maze is at 5:00 PM, with the farm closing an hour later. Tickets must be purchased in advance, as there are no onsite ticket sales. 

PRO Tip: Eaglets under the age of 10 can explore the mini corn maze!
